Thomas Peebles Eliminated in 7th Place ($14,287)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Thomas Peebles
Thomas Peebles

Thomas Peebles has just been eliminated by Marius Toderici shortly after the break.

The action folded to Peebles on the button and he shoved all in for 600,000. Gerald Heckathorn folded and Toderici asked for a count. When he heard the number, he called.

He showed {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Peebles had {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. The {a-Hearts} came on the flop, along with the {8-Hearts} and the {5-Clubs}. The turn and the river didn't help Peebles when they came {7-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Peebles was eliminated in 7th place.

Peebles has final tabled the last two MSPT Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells Main Events. He finished 2nd in February and 7th today.

Break Time

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Heading into the break Marius Toderici seems inclined to work his big chip stack and keep gaining ground on the remaining players.

He has pushed all in over opening raises, and stolen blinds from the button. It's looking like he is on cruise control after winning a huge pot and no one seems to want to mess with him yet.

The players are now on a 10-minute break.

Seif Doubles Through Kurfman

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Greg Seif just flopped a straight on a jack-board and doubled up though John Kurfman who held pocket queens.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Seif checked his cards. The two players got all the chips in and Seif showed {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Kurfman showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and would find no help from the turn, {9-Clubs}, or the river, {6-Hearts}. Seif would double up.

Massive Three Way Pot Puts Toderici Way on Top

Huge Three Way Pot, Marius Toderici Takes Chip Lead
Huge Three Way Pot, Marius Toderici Takes Chip Lead

Things had been relatively quiet until recently. Marius Toderici just won a 2.5-million chip pot, but that might be the least interesting thing that happened on this hand.

In preflop action, Greg Seif opened for 90,000. Gerald Heckathorn called before Marius Toderici shoved all in. Seif called and Heckathorn went into the tank for a little.

"Ok, I call," said Heckathorn.

At that, Toderici turned over his hand to show {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}, but Seif and Heckathorn both had him covered so they didn't show theirs. Toderici realized his mistake and turned his hand back over.

Everyone at the table had seen it and knew what Seif and Heckathorn were up against. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Seif and Heckathorn checked. They checked the {4-Spades} on the turn as well.

When the {3-Diamonds} hit the river Heckathorn shoved all in. Seif snap folded and Toderici was worried that Heckathorn had made a flush.

Heckathorn turned over {7-}{7-} and Torderici was relieved that the 2.5-million chip pot was coming his way.

Seif laughed and said, "You know he had aces?"

"I knew what he had, I wanted your money," Heckathorn replied.

"I had pocket kings!" Seif said.

Peebles and Heckathorn Make Back-to-Back MSPT Ho-Chunk Final Tables

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Earlier this year, Gerald Heckathorn and Thomas Peebles both final tabled the MSPT Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells in February.

Peebles finished 2nd and Heckathorn 5th. As it stands now, Heckathorn is the chip leader and Peebles might have to do some work in order to best his previous finish.

Yao Yin Eliminated in 8th Place ($10,807)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Gerald Heckathorn called on the river and didn't think he would win the hand. Instead he ended up eliminating Yao Yin because the board counterfeited Yin's pocket twos.

The board was {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}{a-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and the action was checked around on the turn and the river until it fell to Yin on the button. He shoved and Heckathorn called.

"You win," said Heckathorn, showing {10-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Yin turned over {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} and it turned out he actually didn't win, because Heckathorn had a flush to eliminate Yin.
