How Wilson Got His Big Stack
We noticed James Wilson, who has been among the chip leaders all night, was sitting on a considerably larger stack, and he was kind enough to tell us how he got them.
According to him, Max Chrisp had raised from the cutoff and Wilson three-bet to 25,000 from the small blind. Chrisp made the call, and then both players checked the flop as well as the turn, which he said was a blank. The river was also a blank, and Wilson led out for 60,000 with pocket queens. Chrisp hit the tank, but eventually paid it off only to muck when Wilson rolled over his set.
Not long after, Wilson flopped jacks and eights against an opponent with jacks and an ace kicker. Running eights saw Wilson improve to quads and vault his stack to 475,000, which is ahead of the chip leaders from both the Day 1a and 1b flights.
