Tran Doubles

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Henry Tran

Philip Wiszowaty moved all in from early position and was called by Henry Tran in the big blind.

Tran: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Wiszowaty: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and what has been a rough day so far for Tran, just got a little better as his aces held to stay alive. Wiszowaty was crippled to 13,000 and busted a short time later.

Stone Bubble

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

After a flop of {4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades}, Dennis Gramza was all in and at risk for just over 100,000. Nik Stone made the call with {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for an open-ended straight draw. Gramza was looking to fade eight outs with his {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a flopped set.

The {k-Clubs} turn completed the straight for Stone and the table erupted. "Pair the board," Gramza yelled, but it wasn't to be as the {7-Hearts} fell on the river, bursting the money bubble.

Pupillo Takes a Big One

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We picked up the heads-up action with a board of {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Nick Pupillo fired out a bet of 40,000. Adam Friedman made the call and the {6-Diamonds} fell on the river. Pupillo moved all in and Friedman spouted "I'm going to need a count;" 108,500 was the number and Friedman then went into the tank, eventually calling the clock on himself.

Shortly after the floor walked over, Friedman slid his cards to the muck and Pupillo stacked up the big pot.

Stone Throws Ehrke For a Loop

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Nik Stone

Jeremy Ehrke opened to 10,000 from the cutoff and Nik Stone called from the big blind. The flop was {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Stone check-called a bet of 16,000 from Ehrke. The turn was the {j-Diamonds} and both players checked. The {5-Hearts} fell on the river and Stone tossed out a bet of 65,000.

Erhke quickly called, but mucked after Stone tabled {k-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the nuts.

Defending Champ is Out

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We didn't catch the hand, but Jason Zarlenga was seen exiting the tournament area. Zarlenga won here at FireKeepers in May and again at MSPT's Potawatomi stop last month, but will have to wait for another deep MSPT run.
