Wang Shows up with Rockets

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Michael Wang
Michael Wang

Action picked up on the river when Joseph Turnbull was heard saying, "that's a really bad river for me." Wang had led from the small blind for 25,000 into a pot of about 40,000. The board showed {10-}{7-}{9-}{3-}{7-}.

Wang sat stoically while Turnbull deliberated for about a minute. Ultimately, he decided to make the call. Wang revealed his {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Turnbull mucked.

Robinson Nearly Triples Up

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Andrew Robinson
Andrew Robinson

Teddy Conner opened under the gun to 5,000. Andrew Robinson decided to go all in for about 21,000. He wasn't the only one, though, as Russell Chabaud did the same for his last 7,800.

Conner had them both covered and decided to go for the double knockout. He called and flipped {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Chabaud showed {k-Spades}{q-Spades} and Robinson had {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

The flop came Jack high and Robinson's top pair was enough to get the win and eliminate Chabaud.

Table Grows Impatient as Morales Tanks for His Tournament Life

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Terry Morales

Action picked up on the turn with two players heads up to a flop of {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Terry Morales bet the flop and Payam Saleh raised in position. Morales three-bet to 69,500, about half of his stack. Saleh then shoved all in for about 140,000 effective.

Morales went deep into the tank. Robert Perelman eventually called for a clock.

"Has he had enough time to act?" asked the tournament director.

"Yeah, I went and got a beer," said another tablemate.

The dealer confirmed and Morales used his full 30-second countdown before folding his hand and living to see another hand.

"What'd you have?" the table prodded Saleh.

"I mean, there are only a few hands," he replied, but never showed.
