Days 1d and 1e of the Main Event of the Hendon Mob Winter Championships have concluded here at the Grand Casino, Liechtenstein, with 20 players surviving from a total of 110 entries.

Hermann Schweiger led the way from Day 1d (785,000), while Christian Roberts topped the chip counts for Day 1e, both of whom remain some way behind overall chip leader Nicola Diaco (1,045,000).

Roberts steadily accumulated chips throughout the day, gaining real momentum when he busted Zoran Stojanovic, and leveraged his stack well to put pressure on his opponents towards the end of the day with the finishing line in sight.

Stojanovic opted to reenter and managed to spin up a sizeable stack to sit fourth in the Day 1e standings.

Players such as Yves Thalmann, Stipe Orec and Ramon Bartmettler did not quite manage to find a bag for Day 2, but still have plenty of opportunities to do so in the remaining Day 1 flights.

Stojanovic Busts Thalmann

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Yves Thalmann
Yves Thalmann

Babic Borislav limped in middle position, as did Yves Thalmann. Zoran Stojanovic raised to 15,000 on the button. Both of his opponents called.

Action was checked to Stojanovic on the J108 flop, and he put out an overbet of 150,000, putting both of his opponents at risk if either made the call.

Both took some time to make their decisions, with Stojanovic urging them to gamble. Borislav folded, to leave Thalmann to agonize over his decision for several minutes.

Thalmann eventually made the call and was at risk.

Yves Thalmann: A2
Zoran Stojanovic: 99

Stojanovic had a pair of nines with an up and down straight draw, while Thalmann had the nut flush draw.

However no help arrived on the 78 runout and Thalmann headed for the exit.

Roberts Busts Stojanovic

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Christian Roberts
Christian Roberts

Zoran Stojanovic opened to 3,500 and received calls from an opponent in the small blind and Christian Roberts in the big blind.

On the 476 flop Roberts put out a bet of 5,000, Stojanovic called and the other opponent folded.

On the Q turn Roberts check-called a bet of 13,000 from Stojanovic.

On the 2 river Roberts changed tack, and fired out a bet of 98,000, putting Stojanovic to the test for the rest of his stack.

Stojanovic went deep into the tank. At one point he tried to engage in table talk but the language barrier got in the way.

He resorted to giving Roberts the eye for several minutes, prompting Roberts to ask, while smiling, "Do I have any tells? You keep looking at me. Either you have it or you don't."

Stojanovic eventually made the call.

Roberts turned over A7 for a pair of sevens, while Stojanovic had 86 for a pair of sixes, sending a sizeable pot to Roberts.
