Hastings Flops a Set to Knockout Misirian

John Misirian raised to 7,000 from under the gun, and when it folded to the hijack Brian Hastings, he three-bet to 18,000. It folded back to Misirian, who called to see a flop.

The flop came 4♦2♠Q♣ and Misirian checked to Hastings, who bet out 11,000. Misirian then raised to 45,000, leaving 24,000 behind. Hastings then three-bet to put him all in, which Misirian called.

The flopped set of Hastings had Misirian drawing dead, and after the K♣ on the turn and 2♥ on the river, Misirian was officially eliminated, as Hastings scooped the pot.

Action folded to Marc Fiorenti who raised to 8,000 from middle position, and was called by Michael Casella on the button.

Both players checked to the turn after the K♦9♠J♠ flop, which brought the 4♣. Fiorenti then check-called a bet of 15,000 from Casella.

The river was the 9♥ and Fiorenti checked to Casella again, who fired out 30,000 this time. After debating his decision for nearly a minute, Fiorenti made the call. Casella tabled A♣9♣ for trip nines to take the pot, as Fiorenti seemed shocked, and said "wow" as he tossed his cards in the muck.

It was a massive cooler with three big pairs in late position. Nelson was in a great spot to triple up and overtake the chip lead, but when the board ran out 7♣Q♣2♠5♦3♠ the pocket queens of Patz improved to a set of queens, which cracked the aces of Nelson, which eliminated him and Fiorenti in the process.
