After four starting flights over the past two days, 96 players return this afternoon to fight for pieces of a $160,617 prize pool in the final day of the 2017 Western New York Poker Challenge's opening event.

2016 Seneca Fall Classic Main Event finalist Mark Allott has almost 300,000 and the overall chip lead.

However, nine out of the top ten are all over 200,000 and that includes talented and hungry locals like Dietrich Kuhlman, Andy Ranaletti, and the enigmatic Jason Nablo.

While a $36,139 first-place prize awaits the winner, the first order of business is ensuring a $578 min cash by making it to the top 63.

Things will heat up soon after that as they vie for spots at the final table where the lion's share of the prize pool lies.

Play will begin with the start of Level 15 with the levels increasing to 40 minutes and the chase to make the money is not expected to last too long.

PokerNews will be on hand from the call to shuffle up and deal at 12 .m. local time until a champion is crowned, so stick with us for continuing coverage of the opening event at the 2017 WNYPC.
