Kurtis Boutelle Straightens Out

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a board reading {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}, with about 3,000 in the pot, the player in the big blind led out for 1,600. Kurtis Boutelle was on the button and called.

The turn was the {9-Spades}. The big blind led out again, this time for 6,000. Boutelle thought about it briefly and decided to call for a second time.

The river was the {q-Clubs}. The big blind quickly checked and Boutelle wasted no time, firing out a bet of 9,000. His opponent grabbed some chips and called. Boutelle tabled {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a straight to the queen, and his opponent looked back his cards and said, "Nice hand. Two pair" before sending them into the muck.

Boutelle now leads the field after more than tripling his starting stack.

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Randy Pfeifer
Randy Pfeifer

Randy Pfeifer has entered the field and has lost some pots to bring him down to about ten big blinds, but if anyone is familiar with him they will know not to count him out just yet.

Pfeifer has just shy of two million in recorded career earnings and has come close to snagging both a WPT title and a WSOP gold bracelet. In 2015, he finished in third place for just over a quarter of a million dollars in Atlantic city in a WPT event, and later that year finished in fourth place for just under half a million dollars in the WSOP Millionaire Maker.

Mike Boncore Busts One

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a board reading {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, with about 8,000 in the pot already, three players were all in. Mike Boncore was among them and was at risk, as was the player on the button.

The player in the big blind was well ahead with {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for a pair of jacks, with Boncore tabling {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a pair of tens and the button showing {q-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a pair of nines.

The river was the {10-Spades} and Boncore made trip tens to save his tournament life, sending the button to the rail and leaving the big blind with a short stack of about 3,000 chips.
