Kurtis Boutelle won the 2016 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam $1,000 Deep Stack High Roller for $23,807 at the Niagara Falls Poker Room in Western New York on Thursday night, becoming yet another in an ever-increasing list of multiple Seneca Niagara title holders.

Boutelle, a A 30-year-old machine operator from Frewsburg, NY, previously won the 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic Main Event title this past November for $62,933.

Thursday, he got the best of an 83-player field to take down the title, first moving into a three-way dead heat for the lead at the final two tables, then picking his spots carefully at the final table, before crushing short-handed play.

The 10-handed final table began with Blake Napierala and Chris Meyers jockeying for the lead. Maria Parlatore was the short stack, but she held on to cash with Guy Klass bubbling the money.

Boutelle busted Tom Babiarz ninth, and after he and Napierala chopped up Jon Shah's stack, sending him home eighth, Boutelle got in a massive hand with Meyers, making top two against top pair.

Meyers may be regretting the call he made for his tournament life tonight, but either way, Boutelle moved into the lead after the hand, and never really looked back.

The bustouts came fast after that, with Bud Salhab, Sammy Smith, and Steve Bullard all going home in that order, within five or 10 minutes of one another.

Satisfied with going from short stack on the bubble to third place, Parlatore put up a bit a fight, allowing Boutelle to take advantage of a table dynamic that had Napierala handcuffed, increasing his lead.

Once Parlatore busted, Boutelle took an almost 3-1 lead into heads-up play and dispatched Napierala in just two hands.

The 2016 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam continues on PokerNews on Friday with the first two of four starting flights for Event #2: $200 No-Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guaranteed beginning at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. local time. Tune in then.
