Anthony Gugino

Anthony Gugino is off and running here in Event #3 having just secured an early double up.

He pushed all in with pocket aces on a rather low flop and got the call from one opponent holding pocket queens.

The aces held and the Niagara Falls Poker Rom reg has twice the starting stack now.

On A Boat

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Returning to the action today after his eighth-place finish in Event #1 Friday is one Scott Aitchison.

He raised it up from the button early on and Ron Downen was the only caller, defending his big blind. They went heads up to the {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop where Downen checked and Aitchison continued for 375.

Downen called, but when the {10-Hearts} turned, he led out for 600. Aitchison raised it up to 1,500, but Downen did not go away, making the call. The {5-Hearts} came down on the river and after a check from Downen, Aitchison fired another bullet, making it 1,700.

Downen snapped with {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Aitchison could only sigh and muck.

Better Late Than Never

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Latecomers continue to make their way to the cage to register for this event as the first level plays out.

One would expect as much with the clocks moving ahead one hour last night.

The board currently reads 54 entries and that number appears to be growing by the minute.

Jeff Kandefer
Jeff Kandefer

Jeff Kandefer made it 150 from the button and after the small blind called, Peter DeSantis bumped it up to 725 from the big blind.

Both players called and the flop rolled out {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. DeSantis continued for 1,225, but Kandefer fired back with a raise to 2,500. The small blind folded, but DeSantis called.

The turn brought the {q-Hearts} and a check from DeSantis. Kandefer made it 3,000 and DeSantis called again. The action heated up even more on the {8-Hearts} river, as DeSantis made a rather large 8,000-chip bet. Kandefer called and when DeSantis showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, he turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, dragging the pot with a flopped set.
