Day 1 Completed
Toronto, Canada's Xiaohu Chen took down the second event of the 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge in the early morning hours Sunday.
Chen bested a field of 117 entries to book the $15,242 win, including a tough final table he shared with Event #1 winner Jerry Calvaneso.
In fact, it was Calvaneso that really put Chen in great position to win it all when the two tangled in a massive pot during seven-handed play that saw Calvaneso shove with big slick on a queen-high board and Chen make the game-changing call with jacks.
By the time he got heads up with Jason Stockfish, Chen held 2.1 million of the 3.5 million chips in play and made short work of the Cleveland native, calling with second pair against bottom pair and a combo draw that never materialized. With that, Chen became the champion of Event #2.
