The Money Bubble

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Kevin Cunningham was just eliminated by Jason Nablo, and we're officially on the money bubble. No talks of paying the bubble yet, so this may be a true money bubble unlike yesterday's Event #1.

Walker Tumbles

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Nick Walker
Nick Walker

One-time chip Leader Nick Walker just exited empty-handed. He got the last of his chips in preflop with {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} against Pete Kaemmerlen's {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, and the {4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades} board spelled the end of Walker's tournament life.

Andy Spears, Tom Maher Eliminated

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Andy Spears
Andy Spears

Andy Spears had an awful level, eventually losing the last of his chips in a preflop confrontation with Jason Nablo. Spears' {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs} couldn't outrun Nablo's {A-}{X-}, ending his tournament life in 17th place.

Tom Maher was sent packing moments later, leaving us with 16 players.

Nearing the Money Bubble

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

With 18 players remaining we're only six spots away from reaching the money in Event #2. The top 12 finishers will pocket at least $1,005, with the eventual winner earning $14,364. Some of the area's top talent is still in contention, so this should be a fun night of poker.

Thomson Building

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Jimmy Thomson is dominating over at Table 6. He opened to 7,000 from early position and Carol Leonardi three-bet to 15,000 from the small blind. Thomas called, and the flop rolled out {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Leonardi checked and Thomson pushed a tall stack of T5,000 chips into the middle, effectively putting Leonardi all in. She quickly called.

Thomson: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Leonardi: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

Leonardi's ace-high was in front, but the {10-Diamonds} on the turn swayed the favor to Thomson's side. The {4-Diamonds} completed the board, and Leonardi playfully fired some expletives before leaving the table.
