Homick Doubles Through Colao

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Charlie Homick, who earned $36,000 last night by making a straight flush and winning the bad beat jackpot hand, just doubled his stack here in Event #10. We walked up to see Homick all in preflop for around 20,000 with the {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} against Hoss Colao's {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and the {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs} board rang true for Homick. Despite the hit, Colao is still healthy with just under 30 big blinds.

"I Need to Hit It"

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Action folded around to Travell Thomas on the button and he put in a raise to 3,000. Eric Nuss responded by moving all in for 8,600 from the small blind, the big folded, and Thomas simply smiled. It was obvious he didn't have much, but he made the call nonetheless.

Thomas: {6-Spades}{7-Spades}
Nuss: {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}

"I need to hit it," Thomas said when the {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop delivered him an open-ended straight draw. Thomas was excited about his prospects, but his spirits dampened a bit when the {Q-Hearts} turn failed to help. The {A-Hearts} river also blanked, and Nuss scored the double.

"How do I flop all around my hand?" Thomas asked.

"Sick, isn't it," Nuss responded.

Welcome to the Table, Aaron

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Aaron Olshan
Aaron Olshan

Aaron Olshan took his new seat at Table 3 just moments ago, and on the first hand he busted Rick Block to join the chip leaders.

Tom Loll limped from middle position and Olshan raised to 3,000 from directly behind. One seat over, Rick Block three-bet to 7,300, and Loll folded when action folded back to him. Olshan responded with a four-bet to 15,000, and Block asked for a count on Olshan's stack before shoving for 45,000. Snap call.

Block: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Olshan: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}

The {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{J-Hearts} board bricked off for Block, and he was sent to the rail. Olshan now boasts a stack of around 95,000.

Pocket Rockets Keep Reyes in the Game

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We missed the action unfold, but we do know that Kevin Reyes got his stack in on a board reading {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} and was at risk against Paul Defrank.

Defrank: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Reyes: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Both players held overpairs to the board, but Reyes' was best. All he needed to do was dodge a ten on the river to double, which is exactly what he did when the {J-Diamonds} blanked.

Loll Sends One to the Rail

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After Tom Loll limped from middle position, the player in the hijack moved all in for 7,900. Action folded back to Loll, and he dropped in a call.

Loll: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Hijack: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Both players held an ace, which meant Loll's kicker had him well out in front. The {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop paired both, but again it was the kicker that was making all the difference. The {8-Spades} turn left the hijack in need of a seven on the river, but it wasn't in the cards as the {3-Hearts} blanked.
