Spears Crosses 2 Million With Huge Pot

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Andy Spears raised his button to 40,000 and Alex Barker and Brian McCormick called to see a flop of {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}. Barker and McCormick checked to Spears, who bet 66,000. Barker responded with a check-raise to 132,000. McCormick folded and Spears called.

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and Barker bet 150,000. Spears called, and the {2-Diamonds} arrived on the river. Barker opted to check to Spears, who cut out 294,000 from his stack and pushed it into the pot. Barker thought for a moment before announcing a call, and Spears rolled over {J-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a turned full house. Barker mucked and was left with 570,000.

One For Spears

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Andy Spears raised to 40,000 from the button and Alex Barker made it 100,000 to go from the small blind. Action folded back to Spears who called to see a {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{K-Spades} flop. Barker continued out for 100,000 and Spears called. The {A-Diamonds} hit fourth street and both players checked to see the {5-Spades} finish off the board.

Barker checked for a second time and then snap-called a 185,000 bet from Spears. Barker showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for kings and tens but was ultimately behind Spears' {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for aces and tens. Spears now has about 1.9 million in chips.

Alex Barker limped his button and Brian McCormick completed his small blind. Andy Spears raised to 65,000 from the big blind, and Barker called. McCormick then woke up with the re-raise to 195,000. Spears laughed as he got up from the table to chat with D.J. MacKinnon on the rail, and Barker's cards also went into the muck.

Barker, Spears Battle

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Alex Barker had been open-limping the majority of his buttons at this final table, but this time he raised to 37,000. Andy Spears defended his big blind and the flop rolled out {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Spears check-called a bet of 50,000, and the {6-Hearts} hit the turn. Both players checked, bringing the {10-Hearts} on the river. Spears checked again, and Barker fired 100,000 into the pot. Spears wasted little time in tossing in a call, but Barker tabled {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a straight and the win.

Budway Salhab Eliminated in 5th Place ($10,870)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Budway Salhab - 5th Place
Budway Salhab - 5th Place

Budway Salhab is first to act and opens to 37,000. Andy Spears three-bets to 83,000 from the cutoff and the other three players at the table fold. Salhab thinks for about 45 seconds before announcing an all in bet for 390,000. Spears pondered for a moment, gave a quick shrug, and announced a call.

Salhab: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Spears: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The two were racing for Salhab's tournament life heading to the flop. Spears jumped out into the lead when he paired up on {J-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Salhab stood from his seat and threw his coat on. The turn brought the {7-Clubs} and the river the {2-Diamonds}, ensuring that Spears would eliminate Salhab in fifth place and absorb his chip stack.

"That's a horrible call with ace-jack," said Salhab after the hand. Spears gave a short reply regarding how often he'd been three-betting Salhab while stacking his new chips to a stack of about 1.82 million.
