Demmerley Busts One

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

A short-stacked player moved all in before the flop for his last 2,850 and found calls from Art Demmerley in the small blind and the player in the big blind. The flop was filled with hearts as it fell {6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Demmerley checked. The big blind check it back and a fourth heart came on the turn with the {5-Hearts}. Two more checks prompted the dealer to complete the board with the {9-Clubs}.

The all in player tabled {K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for king-high and was guaranteed to be eliminated in when the big blind showed {A-Clubs}{7-Spades} for ace-high.

Demmerley tabled {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for tens and nines and was able to scoop up the pot. Winning this hand boosts Demmerley's stack up to right around 70,000.

Fisher Finds A Double

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

We caught up with Don Fisher, Leon Halat and another player staring at a board of {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{K-Hearts} with more than 30,000 already in the pot. The player in Seat 5 checked, Fisher moved all in for his last 2,500, and Halat put in a raise worth 12,000, not realizing that Fisher had already bet. The other player folded after thinking for a minute, and the hands were revealed.

Fisher was shocked to see that his {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} was the best hand as Halat showed {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Fisher is back to 35,000.

Spears Folds to Five-Bet Ship

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

A player opened the pot with a raise to 1,100 and action folded to the player on the button who made it 3,000 to go. Andrew Spears looked down at his cards in the small blind and cut out a four-bet to 6,200. The player on the button announced a five-bet all in with little hesitation. The bet was for what looked to be 22,025 total and action folded back around to Spears.

Spears mulled over the decision for a moment before flicking his cards into the muck. After this hit, Spears is sitting around 49,500 in chips.

Travell Thomas Re-Enters After Busting

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Travell Thomas is on his way to the cage to re-enter after sending all of his chips over to Howard Kitchie. Thomas raised to 1,000 from early position and Johannes Mueller (middle position) and Kitchie (cutoff) called. On the {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Thomas led out for 1,500 and only Kitchie came along. The {9-Hearts} hit the turn and Thomas bet 2,550. Kitchie quickly raised to 9,000, and Thomas went into the tank.

"What you trying to catch," asked Thomas, to which Kitchie responded, "a cold." The light banter ended there, and Thomas thought for a moment before deciding to commit his last 24,000 or so. Kitchie snap-called.

Thomas: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Kitchie: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Thomas needed to drill a two-outer on the river to overcome Kitchie's flopped set, but the {K-Diamonds} sent his stack over to Kitchie, who is now among the leaders.

"I had an overpair! If I couldn't rebuy I would have folded," said Thomas as he got up from his seat.
