Sean Shah Leads After Day 1b of 2019 Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack
The 2019 Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack Poker Series continued on Friday with the second of three starting flights in Event #1: $350 DeepStack NLH. Day 1b attracted 200 runners, which along with Day 1a’s 225 brought the current field size up to 425 entries.
After 14 levels of play, approximately 33 remained with Sean Shah and his stack of 418,000 leading the way. That is just a bit behind Day 1a chip leader Aaron Klausman, who advanced with 480,000.
Shah got a good chunk of his stack midway through the day when he hit a heater, which included winning a big flip against Matt Yorra with Big Slick against pocket queens.
Others to bag big stacks were Jaime Tran (338,000), Paul Balzano (290,000), Zachary Hammons (288,000), and Alfredo Fernandez (287,000). They were joined by players like David Ward (286,000), Josh Wasserman (259,000), Aleksandr Shevelev (213,000), Mike Newman (145,000), and Dejan Petkovic (61,000).
Among those to fire Day 1b but fail to advance were 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event runner-up Josh Beckley, Perry Shiao, Randy Larkin, Nick Yunis, Donny Rubenstein, and Ariel Quintana.
