Day 3 Started
The penultimate day of the $1,050 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Medium Main Event is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Only 79 players have made their way to Day 3, out of the 4,206 entries that have been made in total. The field is battling over a prize pool of $4,206,000, and all are eyeing the first-place prize of $600,639.75. However, all 79 remaining players have already locked up a sum of $5,103.13 to add to their bankroll.
Leading those who return is "2ndOnly2God", playing from the United Kingdom. They will play a stack of 19,267,210 chips when play resumes, good for 138 big blinds. Morocco's "soulmekki" (16,629,839) and "blebelea" from Romania (15,962,872) were the only other two players to bag over 100 big blinds, completing the top three chip counts. Meanwhile Vicente "vicenfish" Delgado also finds himself in the top ten, sitting on a stack of 11,135,501 chips.

The first hand is being played as Day 3 of the SCOOP $1,050 Medium Main Event has officially commenced.
"blebelea" made a minraise to 280,000 from under the gun and Julian "HealTheWorld" Thomas called from the big blind. The flop fell A♣6♥8♣ and Thomas proceeded with a check, after which "blebelea" put out a continuation-bet worth 248,325.
Thomas then put in a raise to 700,000 before "blebelea" three-bet to put Thomas' 1,424,242 remaining chips at risk. Thomas made the call and the two players showed down.
Julian "HealTheWorld" Thomas: K♣2♣
"blebelea": Q♣9♣
Best case scenario for Thomas, who had the flush draw with the highest card. However, the 9♠ turn paired "blebelea" and the 7♦ river was a big blank.
Thomas was one of several players that busted in the first five minutes of play on Day 3.

"Grekzorba" raised to 320,000 from the cutoff before Niklas "Lena900" Astedt went all-in for 2,069,480 from the button. The blinds folded and "Grekzorba" made the call to put the Swedish crusher at risk.
Niklas "Lena900" Astedt: A♦Q♣
"Grekzorba": K♠K♣
The flop brought a grim outlook for Astedt, as "Grekzorba" improved their pocket kings to a set on 9♠5♣K♥. The turn 6♥ landed them the checkmark, and the river 4♠ saw Astedt's seat emptied.
Astedt was one of the many eliminations within the first half an hour of fast and furious play here on Day 3.

"RodolfoD.Santos" opened to 320,000 from the hijack before "SAMOVRAH" put in his stack of 1,564,966 from the button. "RodolfoD.Santos" put in the extra chips as well and "SAMOVRAH" threw out a tissue box to their opponent before the cards were opened.
"SAMOVRAH": 8♠7♠
"RodolfoD.Santos": K♦K♥
As it turned out, it would be "SAMOVRAH" who needed to dry their eyes, as the K♠7♣2♠2♦6♠ board meant their opponent's full house had locked the pot up on the turn.
One more exit was had on this table, as well as many others on outer ones.

Arsenii "josef_shvejk" Karmatckii opened the action with a raise to 320,000 from early position. "StongQueenAA" was on the button and made it 816,000 to go before "Alex Shepel" put in the cold four-bet to 2,240,000 from the small blind.
Karmatckii then five-bet jammed for 3,138,851, which forced "StrongQueenAA" out of the pot. "Alex Shepel", on the other hand, put in the extra million chips and a big preflop confrontation had concluded.
Arsenii "josef_shvejk" Karmatckii: Q♥Q♠
"Alex Shepel": A♦K♣
The queens were strong for Karmatckii, as he flopped top set on Q♣6♦5♣. The A♠ turn left "Alex Shepel" with zero percent and the Q♦ river delivered Karmatckii a bonus four of a kind as he raked in a big double-up.
