''zarkou'' raised to 2,520 from under the gun and received calls from ''teixeirapokr'' in middle position, ''Perfect1232'' in the cutoff, and Alejandro ''[Papo]AR'' Lococo in the big blind.
The flop fell Q♣10♦2♥ and the action checked to ''Perfect1232'', who put forth a bet of 3,802. ''teixeirapokr'' was the only one to fold as the other two competitors called.
On the 4♣ turn, ''Perfect1232'' bet another 8,400 after both players checked to him again. Lococo made the call before ''zarkou'' went all-in for his remaining 24,051 chips. Both ''Perfect1232'' and Lococo called and the K♥ river completed the board.
Lococo checked for a third time, and ''Perfect1232'' followed ''zarkou''s example and shoved his 43,520 in the middle, worth around half the pot.
Lococo used his entire timebank until it hit zero seconds, forcing him to fold. ''zarkou'' showed Q♥Q♠ for a set of queens, and tripled up as ''Perfect1232'' held 2♣2♦ for a lower set.
Fintan ''easywithaces'' Hand opened from the cutoff to 2,070. The action folded to ''ilovetyumen'' in the big blind, who made a reraise to 8,280. Hand clicked on the call button and a flop of K♠10♣A♣ was spread.
''ilovetyumen'' continued with a bet of 5,904 and Hand once more obliged with a call. On the 10♠ turn, ''ilovetyumen'' upped the ante to 9,800, but still Hand was not going anywhere as he put in the same amount of chips.
The 5♦ river saw ''ilovetyumen'' finally slow down and check. Hand smelled an opportunity and put in his entire stack, worth 89,406 chips. The bet was almost twice as big as the pot and sent ''ilovetyumen'' into his time bank. Eventually, the player from Mexico folded, and Hand chipped up to an above-average stack.
Talal ''raidalot'' Shakerchi opened to 1,712 from under the gun and ''fkiw'' made the call from the hijack. ''QuocTuong'' then put in the three-bet to 7,560 from the button and only Shakerchi called.
On a 7♦6♦8♣ flop, Shakerchi checked to his opponent. ''QuocTuong then put Shakerchi all-in for his remaining 19,806 stack, and Shakerchi followed with the call.
The 9♥ brought some extra chop and scoop outs for Shakerchi, but the river paired the board with the 6♠. ''QuocTuong''s ace-king held up and Shakerchi immediately clicked ''reenter'' on his pop-up.
Sebastian ''peace&loove'' Huber opened the action with a raise to 1,250 from early position. Tomas ''dartazzzz'' Jozonis was in middle position and made the three-bet to 3,750, which Huber called.
The flop of J♥10♠2♠ saw Huber check-call a 3,000 continuation-bet from Jozonis before both players checked the J♦ turn.
On the K♣ river, Huber took the betting lead by putting 4,419 chips in the middle. Jozonis responded with a huge all-in raise to 35,430 and Huber snap called.
Jozonis showed down A♥Q♦ for the rivered straight, but the river was better for Huber, who turned his trips into a full house, holding K♠J♠.
Alejandro ''[Papo]AR'' Lococo made a three-bet from the button to 3,500, after ''zvejoju'' made the initial raise to 1,100 from the cutoff. ''zvejoju'' made the call and a flop of Q♦10♥3♣ was spread.
''zvejoju'' checked to Lococo, who fired a continuation-bet of 2,716. ''zvejoju'' responded with a raise to 8,250 and Lococo made the call.
''zvejoju'' checked when the J♣ turn fell and Lococo now put forth a bet of 15,000 chips. ''zvejoju'' called before the A♣ river completed the board.
Another check from ''zvejoju'' followed, and Lococo jammed his 66,480 remaining chips in the middle. This was enough to make his opponent fold, resulting in a nice above-average stack for Lococo.
''RUMUKULUS'' raised to 1,000 from early position before online poker legend Niklas ''Lena900'' Astedt reraised to 3,200 from the button. The action folded back to ''RUMUKULUS'', who put in the four-bet to 9,600. Astedt made the call and the two players saw a flop of 9♥Q♦2♦ appear.
On that flop, ''RUMUKULUS'' added another 4,800 to the pot before Astedt followed suit. The 3♣ turn and 8♥ river saw no further aggressive action as both players knuckled the virtual table.
''RUMUKULUS'' showed Q♣Q♥ for the slowplayed top set, and Astedt mucked his holdings as he had nothing that could match his opponent's hand.
The 2023 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is nearing its conclusion as the Main Events are set to kick off today at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time. As usual, the iconic online poker series has three buy-in levels for each event to accommodate players with any bankroll. On this page, the Medium Main Event with a buy-in of $1,050 will be reported, which boasts a gigantic guaranteed prize pool of $4,000,000.
Of course, the Main Events are not the only tournaments to have taken place during SCOOP. The 107 preceding medium events saw, among others, Benny ‘’RunGodLike’’ Glaser extend his lead in COOP titles and PokerStars’Lasse "Wistern" Jagd Lauritsen capture his maiden COOP title.
The best overall performer at this buy-in level, however, has been Jerry "Perrymejsen" Odeen, who is sitting atop the SCOOP Medium leaderboard just before the Main Event commences. ’’FAL1st’’, playing from Thailand, is trailing him by a mere ten points, so a deep run in the Main Event could set either player up to grab the $10,000 prize that comes with winning the Medium leaderboard.
The defending champion of the Medium Main Event is United Kingdom’s ’’paythetable101’’, who took home $509,837 in the 2022 edition after a four-way deal. Among those seeking to decrown them and become a SCOOP Main Event champion are PokerStars AmbassadorSebastian ''peace&loove'' Huber, Talal ''raidalot'' Shakerchi, and Christian ''WATnlos'' Rudolph, all of whom have either already qualified through one of the numerous satellites or have paid the $1,050 buy-in in order to be dealt in from the very first hand. The expectation is that many more of online poker’s most prolific names will appear in the lobby throughout the day.
SCOOP 108-M: $1,050 Main Event will last four days, with 16 levels of 25 minutes being played on Day 1. All players who register will receive 100,000 chips, and play commences at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time with the blinds at 200/400 and an ante of 50. Late registration is open until the start of Day 2, at which point the starting stack will be worth just over 16 big blinds. Those who get unlucky have up to 3 reentries available to them, so a lot of action can be expected on Day 1.
Be sure to tune in to PokerNews as there will be a live report from the very first to the very last minute of the tournament. Also check out the live reporting of the massive $109 Low Main Event, as well as the thrilling $10,300 High Main Event over at their respective pages.
