Jeff Elseman Eliminated in 16th Place ($1,975)

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Jeff Elseman
Jeff Elseman

Kris Burchfield opened the pot for 35,000 from the cutoff and Jeff Elseman shoved all-in on the button for around 110,000. Burchfield called and the hands were turned up.

Kris Burchfield: {k-}{q-}
Jeff Elseman: {a-}{q-}

Burchfield found himself dominated but could afford to take the hit if he failed to win this pot. The board ran out {10-}{10-}{8-}{3-}{k-}, hitting Burchfield's live card on the river the knock out Elseman.

Elseman worked a short stack for all of Day 2 and managed to nurse it to a 16th-place finish. For his efforts, Elseman will take home $1,975.

Vande Mheen checked it to Davis, who shoved all-in. Mheen snap-called and the hands were turned up.

Kelly Vande Mheen: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Scott Davis: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Davis would not get the help he needed as the board ran out {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}.

Fink Doubles Through Sharpe

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Mark Fink
Mark Fink

Mark Fink open-shoved for around 125,000 and Scott Sharpe called.

Mark Fink: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Scott Sharpe: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Fink was dominated by a bigger pair and would need help to stay alive in the tournament. He got it on the flop when it came {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

Sharpe failed to improve through the {3-Hearts} turn or {2-Hearts} river to award Fink the double up.

Mark Treinen

We missed the action, but Mark Treinen was kind enough to recall the hand for us. Kyle Walters opened the pot for 32,000 and Mark Treinen jammed all-in for 180,000. Walters called and the hands were revealed.

Mark Treinen: {10-}{10-}
Kyle Walters: {a-}{q-}

Treinen says Walters hit an ace on the turn and that was all she wrote.

Treinen exits the tournament in 18th place and will take home $1,975 from the prize pool.

Colvin Takes from Elseman

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Eric Colvin
Eric Colvin

Jeff Elseman opened for 35,000 and Eric Colvin called from the blinds. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and both players checked. The action checked through again on the {q-Diamonds} turn.

On the {9-Spades} river, Colvin cut out a bet of 35,000 and tossed it in the middle. Elseman confirmed the amount and after a brief think, decided to look up his opponent.

"Queen," Colvin said, turning over {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. Elseman just nodded, flashing {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

Colvin Eliminates Jensen

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Kyle Jensen
Kyle Jensen

Kyle Jensen moved all-in for around 110,000 from the button and Eric Colvin made the call from the small blind. Everyone else folded and the hands were turned up.

Kyle Jensen: {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Eric Colvin: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

"Of course," Jensen muttered when he saw what he was up against.

The dealer spread a flop of {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}, putting Jensen in an even deeper hole, but then added the {a-Hearts} to the board on the turn.

"Give him a straight one time," Jeff Elseman said from the one seat to the laughter of the players.

"No, please don't," Colvin said.

The river came the {7-Clubs} to officially end Jensen's run in the Main Event.

For his efforts this weekend, Jensen takes home $1,670.

"That Was a Bad Time to Bluff"

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Kris Burchfield
Kris Burchfield

Kris Burchfield opened for 25,000 from the cutoff and Jon Lawson defended his big blind. The flop came {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and both players checked.

When the {k-Hearts} hit the turn, Lawson led out for 25,000 and Burchfield quickly called.

On the {9-Spades} river, Lawson led again, this time for 40,000.

Burchfield tossed in a chip to indicate a call and Lawson said, "You're good."

Burchfield tabled {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a rivered straight and Lawson mucked.

"That was a bad time to bluff," Lawson admitted. "Why do I do stupid shit like that?"
