Balzano Pressured by Funes

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Mahmoud Masri limped in from under the gun, as did Paul Balzano in middle position. Alex Funes raised to 17,000 from the hijack, and only Balzano called.

Balzano check-called a bet of 15,000 from Funes on the {9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop, and both players checked the {k-Clubs} turn. Balzano checked the {2-Diamonds} river, and Funes bet 22,000. Balzano counted down his stack and separated the 22,000 needed to call, but eventually folded after a minute in the tank.

Lucas's Turn to Double

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Solange Lucas
Solange Lucas

Mark Lafata limped in from under the gun, then called when Solange Lucas jammed for 38,000 in the hijack,

Solange Lucas: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Mark Lafata: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Lucas would end the drama early with the {2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{a-Diamonds} flop, leaving Lafata dead to a chop. That didn't materialize on the {6-Diamonds} turn or {5-Clubs} river, and the bubble presses on.

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Trung Tran
Trung Tran

David Albertson raised to 25,000 on the button, then called when Trung Tran three-bet shoved for 42,000 in the big blind.

Trung Tran: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
David Albertson: {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Tran's jacks improved to a set on the {4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop, and he doubled up after the {k-Clubs} turn and {3-Diamonds} river peeled off.

Greenwood Doesn't Even Get a Sweat

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Elisha Greenwood jammed for 34,000 from the hijack, and Roni Zelichonok three-bet to 70,000 from the cutoff, chasing out the rest of the field.

Elisha Greenwood: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Roni Zelichonok: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Any drama in the hand was quickly snuffed out on the {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop, leaving Greenwood dead to the {5-Hearts} turn and {q-Spades} river.

"Usually I say there's always a sweat..." Mark Hodge deadpanned after the hand.

Just before the hand, Jose Del Cid Contreras also busted in unknown action.

Jim Gibson
Jim Gibson

Jim Gibson jammed for 22,000 from under the gun, and Andre Bryan three-bet to 55,000 from the hijack, chasing out the rest of the field.

Jim Gibson: {10-Spades}{5-Spades}
Andre Bryan: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Bryan's kings held on the {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop, but Gibson picked up two outs on the {5-Clubs} turn. The {8-Clubs} river bricked off, and Gibson was eliminated.

Who Will Walk Away With the $53,446 Top Prize At the RGPS All Stars Comeback Tour Seminole Coconut Creek $600 Main Event?

David Albertson
David Albertson

The final day of the inaugural RunGood Poker Series All Stars Comeback Tour Seminole Coconut Creek $600 Main Event is here, and the remaining 74 players (from a field of 519) are ready to return to the felt at 11 a.m. EST and fight for the $53,446 top prize, as well as a beautiful RunGood Poker Series ring and a seat in the All Stars Pro-Am powered by PokerGO.

Event #1: $250 Super Stack No Limit Hold'em champ David Albertson returns as the overall chip leader, with a comfortable stack of 406,000 to begin play. Albertson sits nearly 100,000 chips in front of his nearest competitor, Day 1b chip leader Vito DiStefano (311,000), while Theo Lawson (299,000), Mahmoud Masri (287,000) and Raminder Singh (257,000) round out the top 5. Other notables in contention today include Scott Baumstein (194,000), TK Miles (138,000) Brandon Schwartz (133,000), and Mark Hodge (90,000).

The top 65 players will earn a chunk of the $275,070 prize pool, which more than quintupled the $50,000 guarantee. Payouts range from $792 for a min-cash to $5,345 for making the final table, and $53,446 for notching the victory in the first RunGood Poker Series event on the East Coast.

Play will resume at the start of Level 15 (2,000/4,000/4,000) and levels will increase to 40-minutes in length for the remainder of the tournament. Breaks will be given to players every two hours, and play will continue until a champion is crowned.

PokerNews will provide live coverage from start to finish, so stay tuned to see who gets the glory and the RGPS ring here in South Florida!
