Joshua Turner Wins Event #3: $250 Ambassador Bounty ($8,921)
The festivities of the week kicked off in a fun fashion at the third event with the $250 Ambassador Bounty. The resort theme was in full force as a total of 30 players were listed as bounties, prizes spanning from $50 in Rungood Store credit, to $1,000 in cash.
Among the bounties were such names as Rungood legends like Chris Conrad, Cody Stanford, Daniel Lowery, Preston McEwen, and 2004 Main Event champion Greg Raymer. The outfits were tropical, the luau necklaces aplenty, and the laughs constant.
This tournament saw a total of 252 players come out to play, creating a prizepool of $40,320 and a total of 32 players made the money. As the dust settled, it was grinder Joshua Turner who took home his first RGPS ring worth $8,921 to add to his illustrious resume.
Turner had arrived on little sleep and started the table as one of the shorter stacks. A couple of big confrontations with Daniel Lowery and he saw himself get to heads up as the bigger of the two stacks. What followed was a short match and with Turner’s earlier final table, he took the lead in the Golden Player of the series points. “It’s why I came,” said Turner “I love player of the year races, and adding $10,000 is amazing.”
