Izadi Soars In Day 1b of the RGPS Tunica Main Event
A total of 245 entrants came out to play the second flight of the RGPS $600 Main Event at The Horseshoe Tunica, Mississippi. The $200,000 prizepool has been smashed with still one more flight to go, and a total of 30 players secured a piece of it from this flight. Everyone of these players is looking for the money, the ring, the title, and the points on the Golden Player of the Series NAPT Leaderboard.
Leading the way is 7-time WSOPC Circuit winner Hamid Izadi, who ended his day with 743,000. For the past decade, Izadi has crushed the tournament circuit in America, and most of those who play regularly know his name. He recently collected his biggest lifetime cash after winning the WSOPC $1,700 Main Event in Pompano for $245,225, and the momentum seems to be still in his court. With a wealth of experience, he looks to utilize his massive stack to secure a first RGPS Main Event title.

Behind him is Tunica regular and RGPS ring winner Rhonda Hart, who ended her day with 608,000. Hart won her first RGPS ten months ago at this stop for $11,566 and has consistently found her way to many deep runs on the tour. A win here would put her on the list of two-time RGPS winners and give a healthy boost to her career earnings, and with her stack today, she looks to capitalize on that very opportunity.
Other players who have secured their bags include, Jacob Foley (370,000), Zane Crawford (157,000), Wesley Jones (150,000), Chris Conrad (129,000), Yekaterina Lukina (115,000), Brian Duffy (111,000), and Dylan Lemery (38,000) . Very few on the RGPS circuit have had as much success as Loi Hoang and his dominance over Tunica is felt once more as he bagged 141,000 in his quest for a second main event title.
Not all were able to find success in this flight. Michael Johns, Preston Mcewen, and Joshua Turner were all unable to find any more points to add to their totals on the Player of the series. Other names that fell included Jon Swift, Jess Roberts, 2004 WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Raymer, Donovan Dean, Daniel Lowery, and WPT Champion Mark Davis. Each one of them will have the opportunity to play the final flight in the hopes of a bag.
Play continued into Level 16 during this flight, meaning that, unless the other flight bags earlier, the players will return to the last level from Day 1a, which was Level 14, with 5:45 left in the level. Levels on Day 2 will be raised to 40 minutes, and play will continue until there is a winner.
