Byrnes Leads the Way in Day 1b
After over 15 levels of play, the field of 147 was brought down to just 18 contenders in Day 1b of the $800 RunGood Poker Series Main Event at Hollywood Casino in St. Louis, Missouri. These players will join those from yesterday’s flight as well as the two groups of players from tomorrow’s flights on Sunday, September 29th to play down to a winner.
Leading the way is Missouri native William Byrnes who ended the day with an impressive 634,000, making him the overall chip leader. Brynes was involved heavily throughout the day, starting his run by doubling through WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Raymer and really soared to the top when he picked up aces in back-to-back hands and doubled both times. With over $865,000 in lifetime earnings, he now secures his first RGPS cash and looks to add another deep run to his highly decorated resume.
