Platt Sinks Awwad's Top Boat

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Jeff Platt
Jeff Platt

Jeff Platt opened to 700 from middle position and was called by Ryan Awwad to his left and the big blind.

The action checked through the flop of 929 and then Platt led for 2,000 on the turn 3 after a check from the big blind. Awwad made the call but then the big blind check-raised to 5,000, which both players called.

When the river fell the Q, the big blind led for 7,500 and Platt responded by moving all in, which Awwad quickly called to put himself at risk. The big blind then went into the tank for a long while before he decided to fold, admitting he had pocket tens.

Awwad then confidently flipped over QQ for top full house but his heart sank when Platt rolled over 99 for quad nines.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Awwad exclaimed as the reality of the brutal cooler set in.

The pot was then shipped to Platt while the table sat stunned and Awwad exited the tournament area.
