Wade's Super Hero Call Sends McGarity to the Dead Pool

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action was heads up with over 175,000 in the middle and 9346 on the board when Jerry Wade checked and Mark McGarity went all in for 179,000.

Wade went deep into the tank and counted out the chips from his big stack. After several moments, he put them out in two stacks and turned over 32 for a pair of threes. McGarity did not like that and he turned over the dusty AK.

The river was Q and McGarity made his way to the payout table.

Brian Winter
Brian Winter

RGPS Player of the Year leader Brian Winter was seen with one of the bigger stacks of the tournament after he knocked out Judith Bielan.

Winter — who has already won a ring on this stop — is just shy of 2,000 points in the race for RGPS Player of the Year, while Shaun Emery is the only other competitor with more than 1,000.

How it works:

  • Leaderboard Points: Players will score points based on their performance in RunGood Poker Series events by the Global Poker Index ranking system.
  • Five Winners: The tally started on August 29th, 2023, and end June 1st, 2024. The top five players on the leaderboard will win a seat in the 2024 Hendon Mob Mid-Major Championship and a $500 travel stipend.
  • Immortality: The top player will be featured forever on tour with a RunGood Player of the Year banner.

It's Double City Over Here

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Kelly Salgado

A flurry of big doubles have prevented the bubble from bursting.

First up was a big heads-up pot with K3Q4 on the board. Action checked to Jason Isbell, who tossed out a 20,000 bet. Ron Slucker made it 75,000 and Karl Grant called before Isbell ducked out of the way. Slucker shoved immediately on the 5 turn and Grant called with his last 75,000 to turn over 76 for a straight. Slucker was shocked and he showed his QQ before he tossed them in the muck.

Nearby, Tom Millward raised to 15,000 and Perry Johnston shoved 80,000. Millward called and the cards were turned up.

Perry Johnston: QQ All in
Tom Millward: 1010

The board ran out A93J9 and Johnston held on for the double.

One hand later, Kelly Salgado got her last 88,000 into the middle and Albennes Armstrong looked her up.

Kelly Salgado: QQ All in
Albennes Armstrong: [JJ

The board ran out 3549Q and the queens held to keep Salgado in the mix.

Play continues hand-for-hand with 66 runners remaining.
