Mark Lafata ended the night second in chips with 437,000. Lafata has many cashes from all around the country, with 16 of them coming from the RGPS. Spending most of the day as a healthy stack, Lafata found himself in a massive pot against Dylan Lemery where he held bottom two pair and faded Lemery’s combo draw to take what was at the time the chip lead. He looks to capture his first RGPS title as well.
Among the final ten were John Fagg (311,000), as well RGPS ring winners Jon Swift (162,000) and Lemery (100,000). They were among the lucky ones today, but not all shared the same fate. Jaymie Virtusio, Chris Audrain, Preston McEwen, and Michael Miller were all unable to find bags today, but they will have their second chance tomorrow at 5 p.m.
Play ended with 22:47 left in Level 13 with blinds at 3,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. These ten will return on Sunday at 12 p.m. and join the final players from the other flights.
