Once it wraps up the currently underway stop at bestbet Jacksonville, the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) is heading to Oklahoma for RGPS Joplin, which will take place April 11-16 at Downstream Casino Resort.

The RGPS Joplin stop, the latest on the RGPS 2023 Checkpoint series, will culminate with the $600 buy-in RGPS Joplin Main Event, which has a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool up for grabs.

There will also be several side events, including an Omaha event, giving players plenty of chances to get their hands on an RGPS ring.

While not the longest stop on the RGPS schedule, the four-day RGPS Joplin stop is jam-packed with plenty of exciting events.

The stop will kick off with two events on April 12, including a $250 DeepStack Ring Event with two flights a $25,000 guarantee and a Flip and Go Ring Event that will be provided throughout the series on demand.

Later in the series, there will be a $300 Pot-Limit Omaha Ring Event, giving four-card players a chance to pick up an RGPS ring.

The RGPS Joplin Main Event will kick off on April 13 with the first of four starting flights. Day 2 of the Main Event will play down to a winner on April 16, and the winner will walk away with the bulk of the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The RGPS Joplin stop will close out with a $225 buy-in Closer NLH Ring Event on April 16 before the RGPS team heads to Iowa for RGPS Horseshoe Council Bluffs.

Carroll Talks Robinson into Folding

Level 17 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Thomas Carroll
Thomas Carroll

On a heads-up turn of {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades}, Greg Robinson bet 18,000 after it was checked to him but was then check-raised to 59,000 by his opponent Thomas Carroll.

After some thought, Robinson made the call and the duo saw the {7-Spades} fall on the river. Carroll then stood up to look at Robinson's stack before announcing a bet of 69,000.

Robinson then went into the tank for a good minute, at which point Carroll started talking,..

"Look ill make you a deal, you call, ill show you the nuts, if you fold, I'll show you a bluff," he told him, and soon after Robinson decided to toss his cards into the middle, to which Carroll did the same without showing.

Carroll was pushed the substantial pot to boost his stack to 470,000 while Robinson was left with 210,000.

PN Podcast: Shaun Deeb Trashes $10,000 & Guest Vanessa Selbst Returns to Talk WSOP

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On the latest PokerNews Podcast episode, Chad Holloway, Jesse Fullen, and Connor Richards talk about the grand opening of the Horseshoe Las Vegas, Garrett Adelstein's interview with Doug Polk, and recent winners from the 2023 PokerStars USA SCOOP.

Plus, Shaun Deeb has been in the headlines this week for a few reasons. First, he won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit $1,700 Main Event at Turning Stone for $276K, and then he made a body fat percentage loss prop bet with Bill Perkins, one that could see him either lose $100,000 or possibly win $1,000,000! Finally, he actually talks to Connor about nearly losing $10,000, which had to be fished out of a trash can. Find out the story behind what happened from Deeb himself.

Also, hear from the legendary Vanessa Selbst, who stepped away from poker years ago but has recently dipped her toe back in as a part of the WSOP Thrill Team. Selbst talks to Chad about what inspired her to join, what she thinks of the game nowadays, and her plans for poker, including a likely return to the WSOP this summer. Don't miss your chance to hear from one of the best to ever play the game.

Dustin Holladay
Dustin Holladay

On the first hand of hand-for-hand play, Dustin Holladay got it all in against Bradley Beetz on a turn of {2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, with Holladay at risk.

Dustin Holladay: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Bradley Beetz: {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Although Holladay had top pair of kings, he needed a lot of help to catch up to Beetz and his two-pair of deuces and fives.

The river came out the {3-Spades} which was of no help to Holladay and he was eliminated on the stone bubble, sending the rest of the players into the money.

An Nguyen

On a heads-up turn of {3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, An Nguyen bet 30,000 into the swelling pot of around 140,000 and was called by his opponent John Langevin.

The river came the {k-Spades} and Nguyen checked to Langevin, who then moved all in, covering Nguyen.

Nguyen snap-called for his last 35,000 and tabled {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of aces while Lanvegin flipped over {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for just a pair of fives.

Nguyen was then pushed the sizeable pot for a big double up to 270,000 while Langevin was left with 240,000.

Miles Calls with Ace-high

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

On a completed board of {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, Greg Robinson bet 18,00 into the pot of around 50,000. The action was then on his heads-up opponent, Timothy Miles, who went into the tank.

After several moments, Miles tossed in call chips and Robinson reluctantly turned over {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for just ace-high. Much to his surprise, Miles also turned over {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} for the same hand. The two players laughed and the pot was chopped between them.
