Scalise Forces a Fold, Leaves Opponent Wondering

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

After the player under the gun raised to 3,200, he was called by Nick Scalise in middle position, as well as the button and the big blind.

The four players saw a flop of {j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and after action was checked to the original raiser, he bet 12,000. Scalise then made it 25,000, and action was folded back to the original raiser who called, leaving himself about 32,000 behind.

On the {7-Diamonds} turn, the under-the-gun player checked and Scalise snap-jammed to put his opponent at risk.

After a couple of minutes of deliberation, the under-the-gun player folded {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} face up and Scalise was pushed the pot.

Scalise showed the {j-Spades}, suggesting he either had the same hand, an inferior jack, or a set, leaving his opponent wondering if he made the correct fold.
