Howard Doubles; Moon Exits

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ben Moon
Ben Moon

Ben Moon opened to 24,000 and then Taylor Howard moved all in for 261,000. Action folded back around to Moon who went into the tank.

He then counted out his chips and realized that he covered Howard by exactly 1,000.

"Yeah I'm probably going to call, just give me a moment," Moon said.

A few moments later he made the call and the hands were tabled, with Howard at risk.

Taylor Howard: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Ben Moon: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Howard was a favorite going into this flip, and the flop of {5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} was safe for him and it also gave him a flush draw. The runout of {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} secured his victory over Moon and he was pushed the pot for a big double-up. Meanwhile, Moon was left with a single 1,000 chip and unfortunately busted three hands later in the big blind.

Evans Scoops Three-Way All In

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Lena Evans
Lena Evans

After being left with only 80,000 from the previous hand, Armando Mesina moved all in from under-the-gun and Lena Evans re-shoved for more. Action folded around to Tavish Margers in the small blind who then also moved all in to cover both players and now the action was on Genna Slavin in the big blind.

"Wow, I could win the tournament with this hand, this is crazy," Slavin said as he was contemplating his decision.

He then painfully folded his hand face-up to show {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and the other players tabled their cards.

Armando Mesina: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Lena Evans: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Tavish Margers: {k-Spades}{k-Spades}

Evans was a huge favorite going into the hand, but she still had to fade kings and jacks to win. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} which gave her even more equity as she had the nut flush draw as well. The board completed with the {6-Clubs}{8-Spades} to secure her victory while Mesina was eliminated. Slavin patted himself on the back for making the fold as Evans was shipped the pot for a triple-up.

Balanza Wins Huge Pot to Take Chip Lead

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Ivan Balanza
Ivan Balanza

Armando Mesina opened in early position to 21,000 and Ivan Balanza called behind. Taylor Howard then three-bet to 85,000 and action folded back to Mesina who then ripped it all in for around 350,000. Balanza paused for a few seconds before also moving all in, putting himself at risk while Howard quickly got out of the way.

Ivan Balanza: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Armando Mesina: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Balanza was a big favorite in this matchup, and the flop of {k-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} put him lightyears ahead with his top set of kings. The runout of {3-Spades}{4-Hearts} improved him to a full house and he was shipped the massive pot to put him into the chip lead with almost 700,000.

Baghdasarian Takes it Down

Level 15 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Chris Smith opened under-the-gun to 18,000 and was then raised to 40,000 by Nova Baghdasarian in middle position.

Smith made the call and the two went heads-up to a flop of {2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}, which saw a check from Smith and a continuation from Baghdasarian for 28,000.

After thinking it over for a few seconds, Smith slid his cards into the middle and the pot was pushed to Baghdasarian.

Molnar Extracts Value from Stallkamp

Level 15 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On a heads-up flop of {8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Sandor Molnar bet 18,000 and was called by his opponent, Chris Stallkamp.

The turn came the {2-Clubs} and Molnar continued for 25,000, which Stallkamp called to see the {9-Diamonds} on the river.

Molnar fired a third barrel of 26,000, which made Stallkamp pause.

"Man, you really are milking me for all I've got with ace-king, huh? i wanted to fold the flop and turn but you made it just enough for me to call...Ok, I guess I'm a sucker, I call, ace-king is good," Stallkamp said as he threw in his chips and flipped over {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.

Molnar then rolled over {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} for something even better than ace-king and Stallkamp tapped the table and mucked his hand as Molnar was pushed the pot.
