Jacob Seale & Derrick Contreras Bag Big on RGPS Downstream Main Event Day 1a
Jacob Seale bagged the Day 1a chip lead and is looking to make his first final table of the RunGood Poker Series All-Stars season. Derrick Contreras was second in chips to end the day after surging late with a few late eliminations.
Seale's aggressive style helped him bag 265,000 on his first bullet — a rarity for Seale. He leads 19 players into Day 2 which will restart Sunday at noon.
A total of 106 players queued up for Day 1a and, with two more flights Saturday the field is set to be among the biggest of the RGPS stops at Downstream Casino.
Sam Washburn fell in Day 1a, but will likely be back in the field tomorrow looking to cement his position as the casino champion with another deep run at this series in the main event.
Dan Lowery also fell, as did Michael Lech. Both players were part of the special bounties they created for a few of the other players in the field. Lech and the group bought some wind-up toys and other trinkets to give to the players who knocked them out. Lowery and Lech fell while Contreras and Matt Johnson excelled. Contreras was just behind Seale in second and Johnson behind him in third.
They were the only three players to bag over 200,000. Seale and Johnson will be looking for their first RGPS main event wins and Contreras for his second.
Before that though there are still two more flights and the action will resume Saturday at noon with two more starting flights. PokerNews.com will be here all weekend with the photos and updates from the event.
