Wu Busted While Waxman Gets Lucky to More than Double
We picked up the action on a flop with a good amount of chips already in the middle. It appeared as if Matt Waxman had checked from the small blind and Tricia Wu did the same from the big. Bob Mather bet 7,000 from middle position and Waxman called.
Wu then woke up with an all-in check-raise for 18,700 more and Mather jammed over the top. Waxman, who had 27,800 on top of Wu's shove thought long and hard before calling off.
Tricia Wu:
Bob Mather:
Matt Waxman:
Wu was on the nut flush draw, Waxman had top pair, and Mather was out in front with the pocket kings.
The turn was of no consequence, but the river was as Waxman tripped up to steal the big pot and send Wu to the rail.
