Fricker Toasts An Opponent
Ray Henson was under the gun and opened the action with a raise to 4,300. James Fricker called from early position on Henson's direct left and action then folded around to the small blind, who also called. The big blind then announced he was all in and Henson quickly folded. Fricker made the call and the small blind folded, leaving two standing to turn up their cards for the runout.
"You've got me," said the big blind, tabling .
Fricker showed , which was indeed ahead for the time being.
The flop fell , putting Fricker even further out in front. He was in need of fading running cards in order to score the knockout. The turn came , leaving him with just two cards in the deck that would spoil his pending earnings. The river complied with his needs, coming to leave his pair of queens best en route to the elimination and the pot, bringing him near 200,000 in chips in the process.
