Thornton Chipping Up
Schuyler Thornton was on the button and saw players limp in ahead of him out of early- and middle position. He limped behind, prompting the small blind to complete and the big blind to check his option to take postflop action five ways.
The flop fell and action checked to Thornton, who put out a bet of 600. The small blind folded and then the big blind and early-position player called. The player in middle position folded behind and the dealer announced that three players were still left in the hand as the turn came .
Action again checked to Thornton, who made another bet of 2,000. The big blind quickly called to put action on the original limper from early position. He went into the tank for about 30 seconds and let his hand go. The river fell and action went check-check to take the hand to showdown.
The big blind showed for bottom pair. Thornton then showed for a pair of sixes and saw the pot sent his way. After raking in the pot, he found himself with a decently-high stack of T1,000 chips, which he counted to be 18,000, a part of his stack which appears to be up to about 35,000 nearing the end of Level 3.
