Comroe Over Three Million After Three Streets of Value

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Mykel Comroe
Mykel Comroe

Mykel Comroe saw action folded to him on the button and opened to 65,000. Demond Williams called from the small blind and the two saw a flop of {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Williams checked to Comroe, who made a continuation-bet of 125,000. Williams called.

The turn came {4-Spades} and Williams checked. Comroe continued, firing out another 275,000. Williams quickly called.

The river fell {2-Hearts}. Williams checked once more and Comroe emptied the clip, firing a third barrel for 400,000. Williams said something along the lines of liking his hand and put in a call after 15 seconds at most.

Comroe quickly tabled {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for two pair and Williams, about to table his hand, had {a-Spades} visible as he instead mucked it, unable to beat Comroe's aces up.

Everett Register Eliminated in 7th Place ($7,249)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Everett Register
Everett Register

Mykel Comroe opened to 75,000 from under the gun and was called by Everett Register, who was in the cutoff. The two went heads up to a flop of {6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Comroe fired out a continuation-bet of 125,000. Register called.

The turn was {3-Hearts} and Comroe thought for about 25 seconds before announcing he was all in. Everett immediately called off his lat 400,000 or so and the two tabled their hands.

Everett Register: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Mykel Comroe: {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Register's was in need of help on the final card via hitting either a set of fours or his gutshot straight draw. The river fell {2-Spades} and Comroe's two pair remained best, sending Register to the payout desk in seventh place.

Kevin Koch Eliminated in 8th Place ($5,694)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Kevin Koch
Kevin Koch

Michael Sanders opened to 70,000 from the hijack and saw Kevin Koch three-bet all in for his last remaining chips. Sanders called and the two turned up their hands for the runout.

Kevin Koch: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Michael Sanders: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Koch quickly found time running out as Sanders smashed the flop {8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, hitting top two pair and leaving him needing to hit running outs to stay alive. The turn {7-Spades} left him drawing dead and the river {8-Spades} completed the runout, resulting in Koch leaving the tournament in eighth place, good for a payday of $5,694.

Register Breaks a Milly

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Mykel Comroe opened from middle position and got calls from Michael Sanders in the cutoff, Everett Register on the button, and Martin Ruemenapp who defended his big blind.

The four saw a flop of {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Spades} and Ruemenapp checked. Comroe made a continuation-bet of 130,000 and got a fold from Sanders, a call from Register, and a fold from Ruemenapp.

Action was then heads up for the turn {3-Spades}, where Comroe checked. Register cut out a bet of 225,000 and Comroe quickly sent his cards to the muck, bringing Register over 1 million in chips. It also takes Comroe down to second in chips, with Dennis Jones now finding himself as the current chip leader with eight remaining.

Jones Finds a Huge Double

Level 22 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Kevin Koch opened to 90,000 from early position and was three-bet to 350,000 by Dennis Jones out of middle position. Action folded back to Koch and he called to bring a flop of {k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Koch checked.

"Four and a quarter," said Jones.

"Call!" Koch said immediately, tabling {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, thinking Jones was all in.

The floor was called and play was set to continue with Koch's hand exposed. The turn came {3-Spades} and the remaining 120,000 or so got in.

Jones tabled {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} for top set, having Koch drawing dead as the river came {7-Spades} to complete the runout and give him the double.

Koch was then given a one-hand penalty for exposing his hand as action continued with no further mention.

Comroe Makes Correct Read, Incorrect Decision

Level 22 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Mykel Comroe was under the gun and put in a raise to 65,000, getting folds all the way around to Kevin Koch, who called out of the small blind. The two went heads up to the flop {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and both players checked.

Action went check-check on the turn {6-Clubs} to bring the river {q-Spades}, where Koch put out a bet of 65,000.

"You've got a queen, huh?" asked Comroe. He then threw in chips to call.

Koch confirmed, tabling {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Comroe saw all he needed to see and sent his cards to the muck.

Comroe Puts Everybody To the Test

Level 22 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Martin Ruemenapp opened the action with a raise to 70 from under the gun and saw calls from the next two players on his left by Kevin Koch in early position and Dennis Jones in middle position. Mykel Comroe then put in a three-bet to 500,000 from the hijack.

All players folded back around to Jones, who went into the tank for some time. After a minute had passed, he told Comroe he figured he had ace-king but that he didn't want to flip for his tournament life, folding {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} face-up as he watched the pot go to Comroe.
