Miguel Hernandez Bags Day 1b Chip Lead; Jesse McVicker Still On Top
Day 1b saw 112 entrants and ballooned the prize pool to over $140,000, easily covering the $100,000 guarantee. After 12 levels of play at 30 minutes each, just 24 survived.
The Day 1b chip leader was Miguel Hernandez, who ran his stack to an impressive 187,500, but still behind Day 1a chip leader Jesse McVicker (254,000). Other notables to advance to Sunday's Day 2 are Jonathan Gaviao (180,500), Clyde Lorance (137,000), Stephen McKinney (166,500), and Papa Karn (117,500).
Many notables tried and failed to get through Day 1b, including Justin Gardenhire, Mike Rieck, and John “Cracker” Reynolds. They will have one more flight to try, if they choose, as the third and final Day 1 flight will start in just a few moments.
The 24 players who did advance will combine with survivors from Friday’s flight and Saturday evening’s Day 1c flight to play Day 2, which starts at noon local time on Sunday. Be sure to stay tuned to PokerNews as we will bring you continued coverage all the way to crowning a champion.
