Chao Huang Bags Chip Lead in Day 1 of Event #15: $1,200 5-Card PLO High Championship
After 12 levels of play, Chao Huang emerged as the Day 1 chip leader of Event #15: $1,200 5-Card PLO High Championship after bagging 550,000 in chips. Not far behind him is Marshall Roof, who managed to bag up 518,000 chips.
Huang flew under the radar for most of the day and had a late-night surge after eliminating Tony Moyers in the last level of the day. Huang will come into Day 2 in a great position to add to his $20,781 in live-tournament earnings, according to The Hendon Mob.

Day 1 began with 12 entrants and by the time late registration ended, that number had grown to 69 — generating a $75,900 prize pool. Some notables who entered but fell short of Day 2 include Robert McLaughlin, Dongwuk Moon, Michael Lerner, Pearce Arnold, and Event #4: $500 5-Card PLO champion Manuel Herrera, who couldn't seem to get any momentum and busted out earlier in the day without re-entering.
