2020 WCOOP
2020 WCOOP

Welcome to Day 2 of the 2020 WCOOP Low $55 NLHE Main Event at PokerStars.

Yesterday's Day 1 witnessed a field of more than 34,000 entrants whittled down to slightly more than 8,300 to end the day. The top prize was at more than $170,000 and the prize pool ballooned to more than $1.7 million by the time ticked down on the opening day to already smash the $1.25 million guarantee.

These figures will continue to increase with late registration ending just five minutes before Day 2 kicks off at 1:10 p.m. EDT / 7:10 p.m. CEST when shortly after PokerNews will announce the final tallies and payouts.

Hungary's "uzzy993" is in the captain's seat to start the second day with 671,549 in chips. This places him more than 80 big blinds ahead of his nearest competitors in Panama's "yayo8422", Austria's "roman1607", and Germany's "Hering CNG" all bagging slightly more than 500,000 in chips.

Team PokerStars Update

Felix Schneiders
Felix "xflixx" Schneiders bags the most among the PokerStars Ambassadors on Day 1 of the WCOOP Low Main Event

A total of eight PokerStars Ambassadors joined the action with half that making it through to Day 2. Felix "xflixx" Schneiders was the most successful of the pack after growing his 25,000 starting stack into 90,517 in chips using a single entry.

Mason "Pye_Face21" Pye and Georgina "GJReggie" James also both advanced to Day 2 on a single bullet while it took Arlie "Prince Pablo" Shaban three tries before he got through as well.

Meanwhile, Fintan "easywithaces" Hand, Ben "Spraggy" Spragg, and 2019 PSPC Champion Ramon "RamonColillas" Colillas were all on unable to advance but it wasn't for a lack of trying with the trio each firing the maximum four bullets.

Tom “MajinBoob” Hayward also didn't advance for Day 1 but called it a day after two bullets but joined back in for a third try to start Day 2. Also joining in on the action to start Day 2 is Team PokerStars Online streamer James "OP-Poker James" Mackenzie.

Plan for Day 2

The action will resume for Day 2 at 1:10 p.m. EDT / 7:10 p.m. CEST and should prove to be an action-packed day. Not only will the big field be trimmed down past the 4,863 players or so that will get paid but deep into the money with the action concluding with just 160 players remaining.

Blind levels will be trimmed down from the 20 minutes per level featured on Day 1 to 15 minutes on Day 2 and the rest of the tournament. Blinds will begin at 900/1,800 with an ante of 225 when the action resumes giving any new entrants getting in on Day 2 a stack of nearly 14 big blinds.

Stay tuned at PokerNews as we bring you the highlights of the WCOOP Low Main Event at PokerStars.
