Poker Player Busts from WSOP Circuit King's Main Event in a Chop Pot; No One Caught It!

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Hand

You can chalk this one up in the "never seen that before" poker category. Pierre Kauert busted in sixth place in the WSOP Circuit Main Event at King's Casino on...get this...a heads-up chop pot.

Yes, that's right, he became the first player ever, at least on a live stream, to be eliminated from a tournament in a hand he didn't actually lose. No one, not even the announcers, caught the mistake, and by the time it was discovered the pot should have been chopped, it was too late.

"It does fall under player and dealer responsibility and cannot really do anything about it at this point. If it wasn’t live streamed it would never have been realized and so we just move on," World Poker Tour's Executive Tour Director Matt Savage, who was not associated with the event, explained to PokerNews when asked how he would have proceeded.

Barbero Extends His Lead Heading to the Break

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Nacho Barbero limped in from the small blind with {j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Max Menzel checked his option with {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. The flop fell {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Barbero led out with a bet of 300,000 after flopping two pair. Menzel called and the {4-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Barbero fired out another bet of 700,000 and Menzel still called after picking up a combo draw. The {q-Clubs} completed the board and Barbero sized up a bet of 1,700,000. Menzel used a couple of his time banks before making the hero call and Barbero collected another pot.

The remaining five players are now going on their first 20-minute break of the day.

Barbero Fills Up the Tank

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Pedro Marques raised to 750,000 on the button with {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Nacho Barbero called from the big blind with {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Barbero checked to Marques who continued with a bet of 600,000 which Barbero called.

The {9-Spades} landed on the turn and both players checked to the {a-Spades} on the river. Barbero led out with a bet of 1,700,000 on the river with the nuts and Marques burned through one of his time banks before making the call. Barbero raked in the pot and put some distance between himself and the rest of the field.

Chip Stacks Flatten Out

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Pedro Marques raised to 750,000 on the button with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Nacho Barbero found a three-bet to 2,500,000 in the big blind with {k-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Marques responded with a four-bet shove and Barbero instantly slung his cards to the muck.

On the next hand, Philipe Pizzari opened to 600,000 on the button with {k-Spades}{4-Spades} and Max Menzel picked up {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} in the big blind. Menzel used one of his time banks before three-bet shoving all in which forced Pizzari to send his cards to the muck.
