Event #27-H: $1,000 NLHE (6-Max, High Roller) $75K GTD

Day 1 Completed

Congratulations to “AFA5671”, Winner of Event #27-H: $1,000 NLHE (6-Max, High Roller) $75K GTD

It took less than seven hours for “AFA5671” to pick apart the tough field in this $75,000 Guaranteed High Roller Event. For his efforts, “AFA5671” will take home over $18,000. The top 11 players finished in the money tonight, and when play started at the seven handed final table, "AFA5671" was in the middle of the pack.

He was able to score the first knockout of the final table, when he trapped "ickyflakes" while holding pocket aces.

Next to go was "pariszoo11", who started the final table as the chip leader. However, nothing went right from there, and he busted in a pair vs. pair preflop cooler against "MarcZumoff."

"AFA5671" continued to build a big stack when he sent "fubadbeatbob" home in fifth place. It was a huge coinflip preflop, where "AFA5671" held pocket nines, and held against the Ace-Queen of "fubadbeatbob."

Four handed play went for a while before there were two eliminations in two straight hands. In the first, "ToddLaxMen" was sent to the rail, and once again, it was "AFA5671" who did the dirty work. Next, "MarcZumoff" would shove the turn with multiple draws, but "AFA5671" looked hm up with top pair, and that pair held to get to heads up play.

Heads up lasted for just a few minutes, before "AFA5671" was on the right side of a set vs. top pair cooler. The chips were in on the turn, and the hand was locked up as soon as "AFA5671" clicked call. Scroll down for a breakdown of the final table.

Level 26 (15,000/30,000/3,750)

“AFA5671” raised to 75,000, and “superdonkeydave” three bet to 300,000. "AFA5671" called, and the flop came {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. “superdonkeydave” led for 188,325, "AFA5671" called, and the {k-Clubs} hit the turn.

“superdonkeydave” went all in for 1,328,424, more than a pot sized bet, and "AFA5671" couldn't call quick enough with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a set. “superdonkeydave” held {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for top pair that was drawing stone dead.

“superdonkeydave” takes home nearly $14,000 for his efforts, but the title and first place prize money of $18,293.01 is going home with "AFA5671."

"superdonkeydave" Closes The Gap

Level 26 (15,000/30,000/3,750)

"AFA5671" had dominated heads up play, extending his chip lead, before "superdonkeydave" fired back by winning the biggest pot of heads up so far. The hand started with "superdonkeydave" raising to 75,900. "AFA5671" called, and the flop ran down {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. "AFA5671" check called a bet of 49,383, and the {j-Diamonds} hit the turn.

The bet that was check called was 183,000 this time, and the {2-Hearts} completed the board. A third check saw "superdonkeydave" fire an even 300,000, and "AFA5671" called, only to muck when "superdonkeydave" showed {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for two pair.

“MarcZumoff” Eliminated in 3rd Place ($10,620.43)

Level 26 (15,000/30,000/3,750)

On the very next hand, "AFA5671" raised to 60,000. “MarcZumoff” called in the big blind, and the flop came down {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. “MarcZumoff” checked, and "AFA5671" bet out 45,000. “MarcZumoff” check raised to 122,963, and "AFA5671" called.

The {7-Spades} turn saw “MarcZumoff” move all in for his final 412,713, and "AFA571" quickly called with {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. “MarcZumoff” showed multiple draws with {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, but none of them came through, as the {a-Clubs} on the river gave "AFA5671" unneeded trip aces.

With that, play is now heads up.

"ToddLaxMen" Eliminated in 4th Place ($8,092.28)

Level 25 (12,500/25,000/3,250)

"ToddLaxMen" opened the action by moving all in for 420,000 and change, and he was called by "AFA5671", who showed {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. He was dominating the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} of "ToddLaxMen."

The flop of {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} gave "AFA5671" an even bigger lead, as now only two cards would change the fate of the hand. Neither of those jacks would come, and play is now three handed.

"MarcZumoff" Shoves the River

Level 25 (12,500/25,000/3,250)

"MarcZumoff" raised to 50,000 under the gun, and "fubadbeatbob" defended his big blind. The flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} saw a check from "fubadbeatbob." "MarcZumoff" continued for 42,488, and "fubadbeatbob" called to see the {3-Hearts} come. Another check saw a bet of 88,723 come from "MarcZumoff", and that was called.

The {5-Spades} completed the board, and a third check saw "MarcZumoff" move all in, easily having "fubadbeatbob" covered. He used most of his time bank before folding, and a nice pot went over to "MarcZumoff."

“pariszoo11” Eliminated in 6th Place ($4,698.17)

Level 24 (10,000/20,000/2,500)

"pariszoo11” raised from under the gun, and "fubadbeatbob" moved all in next to act. “pariszoo11” called all in for less, and saw he was just outpipped by "fubadbeatbob"

"fubadbeatbob": {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
“pariszoo11”: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

"fubadbeatbob" hit a set on the flop, and made a full house by the turn to score another big pot at this final table.

"ickyflakes" Eliminated in 7th Place ($3,579.79)

Level 24: (10,000/20,000/2,500)

Action folded around to "AFA5671" in the small blind, and he limped in. "ickyflakes", who had just 12 big blinds left, moved all in for his final 240,000. The trap was quickly sprung by "AFA5671", who had limped with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. "AFA5671" had one of the worst hands possible against aces {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, and after two kings came on the flop, a third on the turn meant that only the case ace would bring a chop. That didn't happen, and "ickyflakes" was the first player to hit the rail at the final table.
