"HeavyLizard" Knocks Out "KennytheRipper"

Blinds: 50,000-100,000.

It was easy come, easy go for "KennytheRipper", who won't be winning his third straight PACOOP title. He had just gotten up to over four million in our last update, but he lost about half of that stack not long after, when his Ace-Jack failed to catch up against the pocket fives of "DakDak Ace" in an all in confrontation.

Not long after that, "KennytheRipper" would lose a second flip to bust out. This time, it was "KennytheRipper" who had the pair, {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, and "HeavyLizard" had {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. He smashed the flop of {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}, and while the turn and river were close to sevens, they were the {8-Clubs} and {8-Hearts}.

"KennytheRipper" would have to settle for 30th, good for $1,226, while "HeavyLizard" is not up to over five million.

Get to Know Inaugural Pennsyl-MANIA Champ Dillon “D-Low1527” Longenbach

Dillon “D-Low1527” Longenbach
Dillon “D-Low1527” Longenbach

Back in May, the inaugural $200 buy-in Pennsyl-MANIA had a $250,000 guarantee, which is crushed by drawing 2,774 entries (1,760 unique + 1,014 re-entries) and generating a $515,964 prize pool. Coming out on top of that tournament was Dillon “D-Low1527” Longenbach, who secured $69,670.79 after a heads-up deal with “justbuy44”, who took $58,175.62 in prize money.

“It is honestly surreal and very humbling it still has not fully sunk in,” Longenbach told PokerNews after winning the largest online poker tournament ever held in Pennsylvania. “A lot of people told me I was wasting my time focusing so much energy on poker but nobody is saying that now so it really validated all the work I have been putting in to become a better player.”

Longenbach a PA Superstar

Longenbach grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and graduated in 2012 from Council Rock North High School.

“I was not what you would call a star student so I decided against pursuing further education,” he said. “I started working in the warehouse at a small equipment company Springer Pumps, LLC. at the age of 19 and have been there since eventually working my up to Warehouse manager and inside sales.”

Longenbach, who had two brothers and a sister, has squeezed in poker in between work and time with his girlfriend of three years.

“I was about 10 years old when Chris Moneymaker won the WSOP and I started playing with my dad and friends shortly after. I eventually started playing on sites such partypoker at the young age of 11-12 years old. I can still remember sitting in my father’s living room with sunglasses on to play online poker. I thought I was a big shot. Eventually, I stopped playing for many years and focused on sports before rekindling my love of poker about 3-4 years ago.”

Q&A w/ Longenbach

PokerNews: Can you tell us a little about the PokerStars Pennsyl-MANIA tournament back in May?

Longenbach: The first Pennsyl-MANIA was awesome. It was a great tournament with a great structure. I enjoyed the longer levels of 20 minutes as most PokerStars PA tournaments have short levels between 8-12 minutes. I actually only had three big blinds left when we made it to the money. At that point, I was just happy to make it to the money and figured I would be eliminated shortly after before winning a handful of flips and somehow battling back to a playable stack for Day 2.

Another crazy part of the tournament that will stick with me is the botched deal at the final table. I was sitting in third place with five people left and we all agreed to make a deal. The deal would have seen me get $40K but because a few players were having technical difficulties we couldn't complete the deal. When play resumed I went on a tear eliminating the last four people to claim the title and top prize. I have had some other small tournament wins and final tables but nothing anywhere close to this size!

Any plans for the money?

My only plans with the money at this point is to make a down payment on my first home with Shelby, my longtime girlfriend. Other than that, nothing planned at the moment. I do plan on playing more events and look forward to playing some more live events once live poker makes its return.

What do you think helped propel you to the big win?

I have a group of friends we like to call ourselves "Team No Tilt" as we motivate each other to always work on our mental game and not let our emotions factor into our play. They always help in the inspiration and motivation department. Once the tournament was announced it was a no brainier to enter and I have the bankroll for the event so there was no need to play any satellites.

Do you ever play live poker?

Yes, I use to play a ton of live poker mostly cash games at Parx Casino. I have actually only played a handful of live tournaments as I did not really have the proper bankroll until recently to play the tournaments I would have liked. I will 100% be playing a ton of live events once they return. While online poker is great and I enjoy it, nothing compares to sitting at the table and being able to get a live read on someone.

What is the story behind your screenname “D-Low1527”?

My nickname since I was a young kid as always been “DLow” and my two favorite numbers are 15 and 27, so I figured it would make a good screen name.

"KennytheRipper" Eliminates Start of Day Chip Leader "Great Daneo"

Blinds: 50,000-100,000

Action folded around to "KennytheRipper" on the button, and he min raised to 200,000. "Great Daneo" defended his big blind, and the flop came down {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}. "Great Daneo" check called a bet of 140,775, and the {2-Diamonds} hit the turn. "Great Daneo" check again, and the bet this time was 270,775. "Great Daneo" check raised all in for just under 1.2 million.

"KennytheRipper" made the call with {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, and he was well out in front of the {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} of "Great Daneo." Another six on the river gave "KennytheRipper" a full house, boosting his stack up to over 4.3 million.

"1BoomSwitch" Spikes The River

Blinds: 40,000-80,000

In early position, "1BoomSwitch" moved all in for just over a million in chips. Next to act, overall chip leader "ChrundleTheGr8" made the call. Everyone else folded, and the cards were flipped.

"1BoomSwitch": {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
"ChrundleTheGr8": {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The flop of {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades} gave "1BoomSwitch" an open ended straight draw, and while the {9-Clubs} turn brought no help, the {8-Diamonds} on the river sure did. "1BoomSwitch" doubled up to nearly 2.3 million, while "ChrundleTheGr8" proved he is finally human by losing an all in pot.

"4thTimeAround" Rivers the Nuts

Blinds: 40,000-80,000

"4thTimeAround" kicked off the action with a raise to 168,000, and "goodfundies" came back with a three bet to 525,285 in the big blind. "4thTimeAround" called, and the flop came down {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. "goodfundies" fired out 275,725, "4thTimeAround" called, and the {7-Clubs} on the turn saw both players check.

The river brought the {10-Diamonds}, and with the flush draw coming in, "goodfundies" went for it all, shoving all in. It was effectively a bet of 2.1 million, and "4thTimeAround" was happy to call with {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. "goodfundies" showed {6-Spades}{2-Clubs} for a bluff, and "4thTimeAround" scooped a massive double up.

"ChrundleTheGr8" Simply Cannot Lose

Blinds: 30,000-60,000

We just posted about "ChrundleTheGr8" being the first player over seven million, and in a flash, he was already up to over 10 million. Right after reaching that marker, he scored another knockout, in a hand that perfect captures how his day has gone so far.

"ChrundleTheGr8" opened the action with a raise to 125,000 under the gun, and next to act, "dbrinker" moved all in for his final 700,000. "ChrundleTheGr8" called with {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, but he was in about as bad a shape as possible, as "dbrinker" held {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

The flop of {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} brought little help for "ChrundleTheGr8", but amazingly, the {a-Clubs} turn and {q-Diamonds} river gave "ChrundleTheGr8" an inctdible broadway straight. With that pot, he is now over 11 million, more than double his closest competitor.

"ChrundleTheGr8" Now Over 7 Million

Blinds: 25,000-50,000

It has been nothing short of a dream day for "ChrundleTheGr8" so far today, as he continues to see his chip stack soar. In the latest big hand for him, "ChrundleTheGr8" raised to 112,500 on the button, and "staxthagawd", who started the hand with 4.5 million himself, defended his big blind.

The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and "staxthagawd" check called a bet of 125,000 from "ChrundleTheGr8". The {k-Clubs} turn saw another check from "staxthagawd", and "ChrundleTheGr8" continued the aggression with a bet of 178,860. This time, "staxthagawd" came back with a check raise to 400,000. That bet was called, and the {9-Clubs} completed the board.

"staxthagawd" checked a third time, and "ChrundleTheGr8" bet a third time, 350,000 this time. "staxthagawd" once again went for a check raise, this time to a cool 1 million, but "ChrundleTheGr8" wasn't deterred, making the call with {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for trip kings.

"staxthagawd" could only muster up {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, and a massive pot was shipped over to "ChrundleTheGr8".
