Another Busy Day Ahead at PokerStars Open Campione as Final Two Starting Flights Kick Off

Campione Poker Room
Campione Poker Room

Casino Di Campione was filled to the brim with poker tables yesterday. Day 1a and 1b of the PokerStars Open (PSO) Campione €1,100 Main Event were met with overwhelming enthusiasm, drawing a crowd of 807 entries to the Idyllic Italian enclave. Today, the last two starting days will take place, with Day 1c kicking off at 1 p.m. local time and the turbo Day 1d starting at 8 p.m.

At the time of writing, 145 players have already signed up for Day 1c, with hundreds more expected to take their seats throughout the day. The €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool has almost been met already and will thus steadily grow throughout the day.

Everyone who sits down today will be chasing Day 1a chipleader Darius Neagoe, whose stack of 417,000 was the largest of the 250 survivors yesterday. Terrance Reid came in second with a stack of 413,500, while Sebastian Kotowicz completed the podium, carrying 398,600 chips to Day 2, which takes place tomorrow, March 14.

The starting stack of 30,000 chips might seem humble next to Neagoe's piles, but the deep structure starts at blinds of 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante, giving players plenty of room to maneuver. Day 1c and 1d will play 11 levels each, with Day 1c having levels of 60 minutes and Day 1d enjoying a more fast-paced structure with levels of 20 minutes. Late registration will remain open throughout the day, closing only after the first level of Day 2, and the players have unlimited reentries at their disposal.

Day 1c will have a break after every two levels, with a 60-minute dinner break scheduled after Level 6, around 7:40 p.m. local time. The reporting will focus on Day 1c, with the chip counts of Day 1d being posted at the end of the day.
