Ontario high rollers will take to the virtual felt today when Event 35-H: $2,000 NLHE [8-Max, Sunday Super High Roller SE] begins at 6:05 p.m. ET.
The inaugural PokerStars Ontario Championship of Online Poker (ONCOOP) has already crowned champions in 31 events since it began on Oct. 1, including Team PokerStars Pro and Twitch streamer Arlie “Prince Pablo” Shaban, Steve “BetrThanPhil” Tripp, and PokerNews’ own Mike “Patty98” Patrick. The previous $2,000 high roller drew a total of 42 entries and was won by Timothy “TruthBeTold7” Rutherford, who earned $31,474.57 and his second ONCOOP title.
Players begin the tournament with 100,000 chips and play 20-minute levels. Two re-entries are allowed, with late registration open for the first four hours, 40 minutes. Day 1 will conclude when there are nine players remaining and resume at 7:05 p.m. ET tomorrow.
PokerNews will be following the action and providing live updates throughout the tournament as poker players in Canada’s most populous province attempt to grab a share of the $90,000 guaranteed prize pool.
