"HoosierDaddyBro" Sets Up "K2zee"

In Level 4 with blinds at 350/700/90, "BubbsterAA2021" limped in from early position, both"K2zee" and "HoosierDaddyBro" did the same while "Bout2CrushU" raised to 4,310 from the big blind.

"BubbsterAA2021" folded while "K2zee" and "HoosierDaddyBro" called to see a {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop appear.

Action was checked to "K2zee" who moved all in for 11,820 and only ""HoosierDaddyBro"" called.

"K2zee": {10-Spades}{9-Spades}
"HoosierDaddyBro": {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}

"HoosierDaddyBro" was ahead after flopping a set of fives but "K2zee" still held outs with an open-ended straight draw.

Unfortunately for "K2zee", neither the {4-Hearts} turn nor the {a-Spades} river completed their straight and "HoosierDaddyBro" won the pot.

"sleven110" Wins Race Against "BishPlz94"

In Level 2 with blinds at 250/500/60, "sleven110" raised to 2,290 from the hijack and "BishPlz94" three-bet to 7,000 from the small blind.

Action folded back to "sleven110" who four-brt all in for 43,140 and "BishPlz94" called off their 21,882 stacks.

"sleven110": {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
"BishPlz94": {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

It was a classic race with "BishPlz94" looking to connect with either of their two overs but the feat was easier said then done as the {2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Clubs} runout sent the pot over to "sleven110".

"ToIkien_Fan" Coolered Early

In Level 1 with blinds at 200/400/50, "UltimulletTV" opened for 1,200 from under the gun and was called by "saturn1ut0" before "wh33lz0fst3@l" three-bet to 6,200 from the cutoff.

Action folded to "ToIkien_Fan" who four-bet jammed for 49,900 from the big blind, "UltimulletTV" came over the top for just 50 more and "wh33lz0fst3@l" called as well.

"ToIkien_Fan": {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
"UltimulletTV": {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
"wh33lz0fst3@l": {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

"ToIkien_Fan" was ahead with their pocket rockets and the {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop didn't change a thing.

The {4-Diamonds} turn however, gave "ToIkien_Fan" a sweat as "UltimulletTV" picked-up the nut flush draw and they completed after the {j-Diamonds} appeared on the river.

Window Cleaner Jason "MIpokerproAAAA" Young Looking to Wipe Away the Competition

Jason "MIpokerproAAAA" Young
Jason "MIpokerproAAAA" Young

One player who has been busy grinding Michigan's first major online tournament series if 35-year-old Jason "MIpokerproAAAA" Young, who hails from Macomb Township.

Young, who has been married for three years and has his first child on the way, learned to play poker while attending Western Michigan University and continued on in Tuesday night home games in Kalamazoo.

"I have some friends with great poker skills that taught me a lot," he told PokerNews. "PokerStars gave me the ability to really sharpen my skills. When I moved back home from college, the charity poker scene had just begun to turn into a frenzy. I won my first tournament I entered. A $10 buy-in, with a $,2000 winner-take-all prize pool. I've hooked ever since. "

He continued: "Since then I have spent many hours at the poker table. It’s always been relaxing to me because I’m a professional window cleaner and I’m on my feet most days."

While traditionally a live player, Young hasn't been able to play much due to the pandemic, at least until online poker went live in the Wolverine State.

"I love to play live poker but due to the pandemic, it’s been tough to do that," he said. "So when PokerStars went live in Michigan I was pretty excited. I’ve really enjoyed it so far. I won a satellite ticket to Event 6 earlier in the week and I’m hoping my experience at the table pays off."

PokerNews will keep an eye on Young as he looks to capture a MICOOP title.

Welcome To MICOOP Event #31: $250 NLHE [Sunday Special SE], $100K GTD

The inaugural PokerStars Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP) continues today with seven events on the schedule and PokerNews coverage of Event #31: $250 NLHE [Sunday Special SE], $100K GTD starting at 5 p.m. ET.

Registration is already open for all within the state of Michigan. Players need not be Michigan residents; they simply must be within state lines to compete.

Starting stacks for this event are 50,000 with 12-minute levels throughout the tournament. Play will begin with blinds of 200/400 and an ante of 50, with late registration is open for the first two hours and forty-five minutes. Up to five re-entries are available for all who are eliminated during the late registration period.

After today, over half of the 60 scheduled events will have been played to their completion in the series, spanning over the past eight days and featuring over $1 million in guaranteed prize pools.

Today's event was originally slated with a $50K GTD but was bumped to $100K with the success of the series thus far. Every event has shattered its guarantee up until this point, with almost all of them generating prize pools that were multiples of what was promised. The large turnouts continue to pave the way for more success in the recently-legalized online poker market of Michigan.

PokerNews will be on hand all the way to the finish line, so be sure to follow along and see who comes out on top.
