With about 17,000 chips already in the middle and the completed board reading {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Spades}, Cristian Fernandez was under the gun and had already committed 3,500 chips. Andres Korn was in the hijack and had raised to 18,500, sending Fernandez into the tank. He eventually called and Korn quickly tabled {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for a rivered queen-high straight. Fernandez mucked and Korn took the pot.

Korn is fresh off a victory in a side event here at the PokerStars Festival Uruguay in which he banked a $15,260 payday. It has been a banner year for the Argentinian grinder; he won his first World Series of Poker bracelet this past summer in the $5,000 buy-in six-max no-limit hold'em event, earning $618,285 for his efforts. The only other bracelet winner to enter this event, Ivan Luca, was recently eliminated.
