Day 1B of the PokerStars Festival Main Event is Here!
Welcome to the beautiful city of Vina del Mar, where Casino Enjoy Viña del Mar plays host to the 2017 PokerStars Festival Chile. This series features a five-day $500,000 Guaranteed Main Event and is sure to attract players from all over the world.
Day 1b of the $1,650 Main Event begins at 12:00 pm ET. Everyone will start out with 25,000 in chips and will play ten, 60-minute levels before bagging their chips for Day 2 on Thursday. Unlimited re-entries are available until the start of level 9, so there is lots of time to try and chip up, or enter late before registration closes. There will be a 20-minute break every two rounds, and an 80-minute dinner break at the end of level 6, at approximately 6:40 p.m.
Day 1a concluded yesterday, with 139 entries and 43 players moving on to Day 2.
The chip Leader on the day was Chile's own, Miguel Zarzar. bagging a whopping 228,000 chips. Zarzar took over the chip lead towards the end of the day and never looked back. The second-biggest stack and only other player with over 200,000 in chips was Sergio Dabio Tello. bagging 200,200. Tello hails from Argentina and was one of the largest stacks throughout the day. Rounding out the top three is Chile's Juan Parra, bagging 159,400.
Team PokerStars Pro and High Roller Champion, Leo Fernandez, took a shot on Day 1a and wasn't able to find a bag. Fernandez is sure to be on the scene today, battling it out for a second shot at back-to-back titles, and a share of the $500,000 guaranteed prizepool.
Day 2 will resume on Thursday, May 25th at noon, at which time the journey to crowning a champion carries on through Saturday, May 27th.
