Borquez Flops a Monster and Gets There

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

With about 9,000 in the pot, and the board reading {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}, Javier Swett was in the small blind and checked to Alan Manuel Mehamed in the cutoff. Mehamed bet 3,000, and Borquez raised to 8,100 on the button. Swett folded and Mehamed quickly three-bet to 22,000. Borquez snap-shoved his remaining 52,000 in chips and action was back on Mehamed. After three minutes of deliberation, Mehamed called, with Borquez being the player at risk.

Borquez showed {10-Spades}{9-Spades}, for top pair and an open-ended straight flush draw, while Mehamed tabled {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, for bottom two pair.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds}, changing nothing for Borquez. He stood up and looked up at the ceiling, as the dealer put down the {6-Diamonds} on the river. When he looked back down to see he made a straight, he yelled out, "Yes!", and clapped his hands once, celebrating his double up.
