Ami Barer Eliminated in 4th Place (€61,700)

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Ami Barer
Ami Barer

Ami Barer potted to 72,000 in the small blind, and Sampo Ryynanen called. Barer checked a {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop, and Ryynanen potted. Barer moved in for possibly a bit more, and Ryynanen called.

Barer: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Ryynanen: {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

Barer had an overpair, gutter and flush draw to take to war against two pair. The turn was a {k-Hearts}, and Barer shook his head. A {7-Clubs} river gave Ryynanen a full house.

"Good luck guys," Barer said cheerfully enough.

Ryynanen Makes a Tough Call

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Sampo Ryynanen
Sampo Ryynanen

Imad Derwiche defended his big blind from a Sampo Ryynanen button raise and then checkec a {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{k-Clubs} flop. Ryynanen bet 54,000, and Derwiche made it 225,000. Ryynanen called. Both checked the {10-Spades}, and Derwiche bet 200,000 on the {9-Hearts} river. Ryynanen took a couple of minutes and then called for nearly all of his chips.

Derwiche shook his head and showed {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades} for kings up. Ryynanen had {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

Ryynanen Finds a Double

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Sampo Ryynanen checked back from the button after Sylvain Loosli checked to him in the big blind on an {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} board. Ryynanen then saw Loosli shove the {3-Hearts} river for 185,000 effective. Ryynanen called fairly quickly, and Loosli showed {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a missed draw. Ryynanen had {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} for trip aces.

Derwiche Gets Lucky

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Imad Derwiche raised to 60,000, and Sampo Ryynanen defended his big blind. Both players checked the {k-Spades}{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop. Ryynanen check-called 75,000 on the {k-Clubs}, and the river was a {q-Diamonds}. Ryynanen checked, and Derwiche thought a bit before checking back.

Ryynanen announced a king and showed what looked like {k-}{8-}{6-}{4-}, but Derwiche had binked the river with {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Konstantinos Bouloutsos Eliminated in 6th Place (€37,200); Minh Phuc Nguyen Eliminated in 5th Place (€47,700)

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Minh Phuc Nguyen
Minh Phuc Nguyen

Sylvain Loosli opened for 50,000 first to act. Minh Phuc Nguyen called in the cutoff, and Konstantinos Bouloutsos jammed after some thought in the big blind. It was 138,000. Loosli quickly announced a repot, putting Nguyen and his stack of about 300,000 to the test. After about a minute, he decided to call it off.

Loosli: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Nguyen: {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Bouloutsos: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Nobody had a pair, which would prove crucial as the board ran out {3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. That meant ace-king high was a winner for Loosli, although he already had the best hand on the turn with jacks up.

Players are on break for 12 more minutes.

More for Derwiche

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Imad Derwiche bet 20,000 in a limped pot against Sylvain Loosli when the two saw a {6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop from the blinds. Loosli made it 70,000, and Derwiche called. On the {8-Diamonds} turn, Derwiche asked what was in the pot. It was 180,000, and he bet that amount. Loosli folded, saying he had ten-six. Derwiche showed {9-}{7-}{6-}{5-}.
