Online Stud and 2015 WSOPE Runner-Up David "davaman" Lopez in Action
David Lopez Llacer made his presence known in the live poker realm in 2015 when he finished runner-up to Kevin MacPhee for $538,787. However, the Spaniard, who now lives in Bournemouth/UK, was tearing it up long before that, albeit online as "davaman."
According to PokerStars, Lopez, at the time 25, worked as a physical education teacher in 2014 before deciding to take poker a little more seriously. He became the fastest Spanish player ever to reach SuperNova Elite, the highest VIP status on PokerStars, when he accrued a million VPP points in the first three months of the year.
López broke the previous record held by Javier Etayo, who in 2011 took six months to became Spain’s quickest player to SNE.
According to a piece by Giovanni Angioni right here on PokerNews, Lopez is yet another member of the community of Spanish players who decided to relocate after the country regulated online poker with the creation of a closed liquidity ring-fenced market.
Lopez in action here on Day 1a and is looking to add to his $792,295 in live tournament earnings.
