Chen Sends Liang Out

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Canlin Chen opened to 38,000 from under-the-gun and action folded around to Yu Liang in the big blind. Liang seemed eager to play and made the call to take the action heads-up to the {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop.

Liang checked it over to Chen, who fired out an enticing 16,000 min-bet, which Liang felt obliged to call and it was off to the {5-Spades} turn, which brought another check from Liang and another bet from Che, this one a slightly larger 50,000.

This sent Liang into tank mode for a while but he does eventually chose to call, leaving himself 86,000 behind. This found its way into the middle when the {4-Hearts} hit the river and Chen snap called.

Liang, holding {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} had just rivered two pairs, but this was still not enough to beat Chen’s flopped set of sevens when he turned over {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} to take the pot and bring Liang’s tournament to an abrupt end.
