Papazian Slips

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Romania's all-time money leader Alexandru Papazian returns from a hot summer in Las Vegas, where he won his country's first-ever bracelet. Papazian won $888,888, the second largest score of the Romanian's career. His biggest achievement came from 2016 when he topped the EPT12 Monte-Carlo €25,750 High Roller for €1,197,000.

Papazian is off to a rocky start today and already has parted with half his stack. On a {5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{K-Clubs}{2-Spades} board, Papazian bet 1,250 and Fabian Mayorga Medina called. The river was the {3-Hearts} and Papazian bet 3,000, which Mayorga snap-called.

Papazian showed {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} for a pair of kings but Mayorga tabled {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for two pair to drag the pot.

Not much later, Papazian lost a bit more as he called a check-raise from 500 to 1,600 on {4-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. He and his opponent checked the {J-Diamonds} on the turn and Papazian folded to his opponent's 3,100 bet on the {9-Hearts} river. Papazian continued with 13,625, his opponent flashed {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.
